Really delicious soul-warming food. Lots of flavour and nice sized portions. Came here on a cold day for lunch and it was perfect! I got the shredded chicken arepa and a chicken empanada which were both great, and everything else I saw looked delicious as well!
Wonderful restaurant. Hubby and I have had lunch there a few times and always amazing. My favourite is the chicken pantacone and hubby loves the beef soup. Food is flavourful. Soup is packed full of beef, plantains and corn. So yummy on a cold winter's day. Servings are large and I had to take half of mine home for my dinner. We tried the chicken, Columbian and beef empanadas this time as well. Also wonderful. What a great find in Newmarket. : We will be back
Finally got to Cafe Andes and oh mylanta, so good! We tried 3 flavours of the empanadas: flank steak, chicken, and Colombian potato and beef. They were all delicious but the flank was the winner for us. Crisp just slightly sweet corn crust stuffed just right. And that magic green sauce...not entirely sure what it's called, but just the perfect balance of bright and fresh without being too spicy. Next up was the Colombian Style Stuffed Potatoes Papas Rellenas Colombianas. Almost what I'd imagine a portable ball of Columbian shepherd's pie. The pototo was rich and creamy with lovely seasoned ground beef, rice and egg in the center. And last but not least Pabellon Arepa -Corn flour Arepa Stuffed with Shredded Flank Steak, Black Beans, Fried Plantain, and Mozarella Cheese. That sweet plantain in there. Mmmmmmm. It was definitely 2 meals in one. Can't wait to go back and try more new things!
Just had the opportunity to try today. Had the carne mechada arepa. Wow. So flavourful and juicy! FULL of deliciousness. Be careful, so full and delicious it could be a little messy, but it'd be worth it! I'll update after I've tried the Dulce de leche churros!
A very friendly place. Their arepas are outstanding, especially the steak. And the coffee? Amazing. Thank you! Update: went again, had another fabulous meal see the attached photo. Very filling, and well priced. Thanks again. Update: enjoyed another great meal. The quality is very consistent.

Cafe Andes - I love supporting new eats near my hood. A great addition to the area serving up Colombian and Venezuelan cuisine. The wifey and I got the Colombian empanadas, beef soup, chicken and avocado arepa and their version of shrimp ceviche. Our favs were the empanadas must have with their hot sauce and the beef soup so hearty, rich and full of beef flavour.
Loved the food here! It was our first time trying Colombian dishes and everything we tried was delicious.. We had empanadas, arepa, Churro donut with dolce de leche, coffee, lemonade, fresh juice - everything was fresh, yummy and full of flavour. We’ll be back for their plates and more arepas! :
Just happened to be in the area and these were the best empanadas I have had in a while. They were fresh, and the filling had the perfect balance of seasoning, potatoes and meat. The buñuelos were also fresh out of the oven. 5/5 would come back whenever I have the chance.
Friendly knowledgeable staff, very patient with questions. Very tasty food!Food: 5/5
