C4 Church

I came here because of the great Google Reviews! As someone from out-of-town, I was welcomed by many people here, and treated like a family member. I smile whenever I think of C4 Church. Easy to hear the words being sung and spoken, beautiful and original music content is refreshing to be a part of. I found myself encouraged after my brief (3 month) visit. Thanks everyone!

I have been attending C4 for about 3 years now. Jon Thompson's teaching is super in depth but easy to follow along. There are so many awesome resources available that have aided in my spiritual growth. Also, I have made so many friends that care so much about me. I love being a part of this church community and I am truly so thankful for it. I have seen a lot of comments about people not liking that the staff at C4 don't contact them but honestly the church is way too big for that to be possible. Thankfully, small groups make that intimacy possible. I've made so many wonderful friends that I don't feel the need to contact staff, I have my own team of people to do life with.

This church through it's Christ-centered motivation, built on scripture as it's source, changed my life and my lives of my family. This is somewhere you can feel the palpable presence of the Spirit during live worship but it is also a church who's preaching from scripture will challenge you in your walk with Christ, whether a skeptic, a seeker or a Christian. The community of people that make up C4 has become our extended family; the people who we are "doing life" with on a daily basis, not just on Sundays. If you're looking to see how God transforms every day people in to those who sing and shout his praises at worship and if you're looking for somewhere that will challenge you not to simply "play church" but to really grow in your walk, then come and join us.

First, it didn't take me long to realize that the warm environment C4 was just a presentation. Sure, you'd get noticed, but only if you took the initiative to get noticed. Even long standing members were greeted like first timers, which kind of makes you feel like you're easily forgettable. Although I can't say much about the staff, I also never see them actively interacting with their members. More often than not, they disappear when the service is over and become virtually unreachable. Also, if I ever tried to reach certain staff members, Jon's secretary would often read my e-mails. Personally, I find this not only invasive but wildly inappropriate. What if I wanted to discuss something with him regarding a sensitive matter? Is she just allowed to read any e-mail he receives to determine whether or not it's worth his time? Furthermore, she shouldn't be allowed to read it anyways as it wasn't addressed to her. Either way, I've witnessed enough to realize that there is plenty of truth to many of the google reviews and I won't be going back. Also, for those of you wondering why so many reviewers choose to remain anonymous, it's cause they want their words to heard without being bothered by C4 staff members.

My husband and I started attending C4 together this summer, and we have been so incredibly blessed by this church. All the people we have met at C4 have gone out of their way to get to know us and make us feel so welcome and valued. We felt like a part of the C4 family from Day 1 because of the kindness, warmth and generosity of the pastors, volunteers, leaders, and members. When we visited the C4 Port Perry site last Sunday for the first time, someone even invited us to stay in their home should we ever need to spend the weekend there. In the Port Perry site, Pastor Joel introduced himself to us and took the time to get to know us as a couple. When it was raining a few Sundays ago, Pastor Lori came to our car with an umbrella and walked with us all the way to church so we wouldn't get wet. We have been so blessed by Pastor Jon Thompson's messages every week, which are incredibly powerful and full of truth. I leave church every single Sunday feeling extremely challenged by his in-depth and unashamed preaching of the word. Since joining C4, I have seen so much growth in my own walk with God and in my relationship with others. My husband and I recently joined the worship team, and we have been blown away by how humble, kind, helpful, and God-focused the worship team members are! Pastor Chris and Trevor have consistently kept in touch with us via emails, texts, and in person to check in on us and help us transition smoothly into the team. C4 has also given us the opportunity to learn so much about leadership and discipleship through its well-organized events (e.g., team night, summer connect groups, worship night). We are so proud to call C4 our home, and so blessed to be a part of this amazing community and family.
