After a shipping company partially unpacked our shipment in transit, our beautiful sideboard was damaged in transit. The By Design Modern team went to extensive lengths to make sure the issue was handled to my satisfaction with no additional cost. Shipping these beauties can be scary, and things do happen, and be assured that you are in safe hands with this company should an issue arise.
Purchased a Mid Century ModernMCM dining table with drop leafs and two internal leafs fits amazing in our small Condo space. Bought a beautiful table and chairs. I’d been looking for ages. Finally found exactly what I wanted. Went back a few weeks later and found a stunning side board. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Reasonably priced for the quality and level of service.
We purchased a rosewood Omann Jun Model 75 desk. The desk was refinished and shipped to us in Ontario and is absolutely gorgeous. We are very pleased with the purchase experience and highly recommend By Design Modern. Jeremy and Lindsay are very knowledgeable, attentive to details and workmanship. They are excellent in their communications and timely responses. Best of all, you receive the goods on time and expertly wrapped. You can be certain that you are purchasing a quality product.

What a treasure trove incredible tables, chairs, lounge chairs, sofas, desks, light fixtures and more. Lindsey was an incredible asset in helping us explore options, try out different variations and land on some exciting pieces for our home.
Absolutely horrible service. I spent $3500 on shelving, got to wrong parts and when I tried to solve the problem Lindsey was totally unaccountable. Even though he’s an owner he was useless and punted to Jeremy. The worst service ever.
I wish I had a bigger place and more money to spend, I purchased a teak sideboard and bookcase this month. The selection of inventory made choosing more difficult than I thought it would. The pieces we eventually decided on blend well with the mid century coffee and end tables I inherited. Highly recommend if mid century Danish is your thing.
Recently purchased a secretary desk. My most positive retail experience in along time. Jeremy answered all my questions and worked out the best way to get the piece all the way across the country. When I picked it up at air freight, even the cargo handlers marvelled at how well it was packed. The legs had been removed for shipping and they took care care to number them with masking tape for easy reassembly. Can’t say enough about the professionalism and excellent service. Would give 6 stars if I could.
Beautiful 1960’s cabinet. It was restored and lacquered perfectly, packaged very securely and shipped quickly. Great communication throughout. Everything was quick and easy. It’s nice to have a beautiful high-quality original piece of furniture. Thank you!
