The name Buon Gusto means ‘good taste’ in Italian.
The name Buon Gusto means ‘good taste’ in Italian. We strive to bring you the ‘good taste’ of Italy in all aspects of our restaurant. Buon Gusto is located in the historic Victoria Hotel building in St. George’s Square, Downtown Guelph. Like many restaurants in Italy, also located in restored historical buildings, Buon Gusto has a warm and casual, contemporary-classic décor with its exposed stone walls and interior treatments. Our wood-burning oven, made in Reggello, Tuscany is ‘il cuore’ (the heart) of Buon Gusto. We import molino caputo tipo 00 flour and San Marzano tomatoes from Italy, to make our pizzas in the traditional Neapolitan thin-crust style, baking them at 900 degrees Fahrenheit for 90 seconds. Our menu also features regional pastas and small plates of antipasti, designed for sharing with family and friends. We have a passion for keeping things simple…using high-quality, often locally sourced ingredients. Our full bar features local craft beers, an extensive and reasonably priced old world wine selection, as well as top-shelf spirits and classic cocktails.
