I like the idea of bulk barn, but my children are celiac and while every offer is made to reduce cross contamination, you simply can't stop customers walking around the entire store with the same scoop so anything marked as gluten free, is probably not. For anyone in the same situation as this, you do have an option to order an entire bin of product which comes unopened. This might not be practical for most but it could help some. As with many discount stores the staff are sometimes younger, I find younger folks are a little more influenced and passionate over current affairs which might explain some of their passion for masks, a passion I don't share. Aside from that, I've only every been greeted warmly and I don't think there has been an occasion where I have not been offered help, even on very quick visits. I rated 3 because the corners cut to achieve a discount stores objective means they will never likely fully impress, but the enthusiasm for masks back when covid was a thing was off putting.

I have never written a poor review before, but damn, enough is ENOUGH. This is a 100% mandatory masking business, as they informed me. I won’t be visiting again. I’m perfectly healthy, and am not carrying the virus. Seeing as the covid particles are three times too small for the mask to prevent transmission it’s not even effective, and certainly not a business’s job to tell me what to wear. My body, my choice applies to all personal body decisions.
Wonderful selection. Lovely din of trust with all these open bins and possible contamination...but not really. Lovely store. Great layout. Great pricing. Metric tons of Pez Candy on the way out too. Love that final touch.
I am blown away at the customer service at this place. These people at the Okotoks branch are genuinely nice, friendly, happy people. They have won me over as a lifetime customer!
Girls working gave dirty looks to each other as we came in tonight at 8:20. They were clearly upset because they were counting tills when we came in and obviously planning to close, we felt rushed as we still had 40 minutes before closing time. We said to each other we were done as we got to the till and the one girl rudely said oh so are you done now? Dont close your tills early when your listed to be open till a certain time. Very rude.
I had gone to the Okotoks Bulk Barn after work on May 12th. While I was walking past the female manager who was cleaning the tops of the bins, I accidently bumped her cart that had been in the middle of the isle. I apologized to her and made a joke regarding my clumsiness. She totally ignored me, turned her back on me and proceeded to continue with her cleaning. I found her attitude quite rude and very unprofessional. This is not how people should be treated when they come to your place of business to shop. In speaking with another staff, it was inferred that she often treats people this way and others have complained as well. I will not shop here again!

Great selection if bulk foods and natural health foods. Loads of snacks and ingredients to make all kinds of things. Great to stock up for bday parties, with cake pans and decor plus pinatas!
