This was such a surprising place. We are from Calgary and we were very happy to find this place. Amazing food and very affordable! We will 100% be back next time we are in town! We LOVED the nacho bar, the roasted ham and the sundae station! Anything you could possibly want from breakfast, to American classics, sushi and great Chinese food too! All the food was homemade tasting and I wish we had a location in Calgary!
Waited so long to finally come to Buffet Royale and was very disappointed. Slow service food was mediocre or just not good. The sushi was warm gross ribs both BBQ and fried had no meat the roast was ok mashed potatoes tasted boxed I could spend hours writing a complete review of the food however I won't. Won't be back even if they fix the vanilla ice cream in the ice cream machine. Not worth the price.
Food selection and service were okay. Price is a bit High at $40 per adult including pop. There was a delicious prime rib but no one to man The Station to carve it during my visit. The fish, shrimp and seafood were fresh and hot. The Establishment was clean and I enjoyed the desserts.
Went xmas day with friends - everything was fresh tasted delicious and awesome selections from salads to hot foods and wow deserts. Enjoyed it very much. Raspberry Gin drink was very nice too. Was worth waiting in line up which wasn't that bad. Vegetarian options: Salad bar - hot foods without meat. ie. Hot & sour soup has tofu Kid-friendliness: Large tables for families... Washrooms... Food choices sure to find something no fuss about.
It's tough to bring myself to a buffet after experiencing the pinnacle of buffets in Las Vegas and especially in Hong Kong. They seem to have a better food turnover and the desire to use fresh entree quality items that you would find at a Chinese restaurant. In Edmonton, you can't seem to find that caliber but at least you can find something suitable enough to help scratch that gluttonous itch. Buffet Royale is a mixed bag, some really horrible items such as the roast beef, mashed potatoes and chow mein. Void of flavour, sitting for far too long. I suggest bringing in some of your own msg if possible. Some great items like the chicken, ginger beef and surprisingly the nachos. Nachos were the last thing I would expect at a buffet and made for a nice change. While the beef topping was pretty bland, it was hot and was enhanced by further toppings such as tomatoes, salsa, green onions etc. They also have all of the popular western style Chinese food you see at most buffets. Service was good even though our poor waitress was alone. She was quick with the drink refills and clearing our empty plates. Selection was decent for lunch but the price was still a bit too high in my opinion. Keep in mind that soda isn't included and will run you about $4 each but refills are free. If you're looking for all you can eat food court Chinese food with a sprinkle of western food without the food court, this is the place to be.
It was OK. This isn’t the best BR location in my opinion. The beef ribs was good but the roast beef was bad I believe it was sitting out for a while and there was nobody actually there to carve, and I had to stare at one of the workers before they actually came as we were lining up haha. The other offerings were OK the soups and the gravies were lukewarm, which was disappointing. the plates placement was weird when we arrived there was plates at the end of the aisles, but then it never got replenished but there was some plates on top of the lights in each aisle. I was surprised there was a nachos/taco station but I actually enjoyed it. The chocolate fountain was good if you’re into that. The ice cream station was also good, lots of toppings and sauces to choose from. It’s been a while since I’ve come here for dinner but I’ll probably stick to just going for brunch or for lunch as I find that the food is a lot more appetizing and definitely not sitting out as long, as they are busier so they replenish more often.
Went here for my father's birthday. The facebook messenger AI for the buy 2 get 1 free for the birthday celebrant was broken to redeem the coupon. Had to ask the one out of the two Waiter-Receptionist on duty to assist on getting some slices of the roast beef. They seem to do all the work functions at the front of the house from reception, waiting, busser, carvery and bartender. They were very attentive as well when we needed more beverage or when we needed the bill. food = 5/10 service = 10/10 Parking: Parking was packed even during a weekday.
Wow this place was fantastic. What an amazing variety of food. I had perogies, fired chicken, corn on the cob, rice, butter chicken, ginger beef. There as mashed potatoes, gravy, tacos, nachos, chicken nuggets, fish, roast beef carving station, nice assortment desserts, chocolate fountain with fruit, soft ice cream. It was clean, bright and delicious. Definitely a fav.
For $35.99, the food that was being served was really not worth it. The sushi was dry, the lasagna tasted horrific, the vegetable roll was not cooked through, there was no one manning the carving station and the manager was eating and counting orders where guests are sitting a separate table, obviously. The ginger beef, sweet and sour pork and shrimp were good. The fruits and ice cream were good. I feel robbed, 2 adults and a kid our bill was $95 and only very few dishes were palatable. Our server was great, however.
Good value for money and lots of food selection , staff and server are all nice and friendly especially BIRO Food: 4/5
