Why are we celebrating the Centennial in 2014, when the cornerstone to the building was laid on June 9th, 1913?
Well, the building was not completed in 1913 and was only ready for students to begin classes in April of 1914 when six rooms were used as classrooms. Two more classrooms were opened in September 1914 to students and four rooms were rented out to the Normal School. (Teacher Training of early days). So we have decided to have this celebration at Buena Vista School in 2014.
