We are delighted that we were lucky enough to purchase a trailer in this gorgeous resort! We have had nothing but a wonderful experience with the new owners, even though they have been so busy dealing with reopening, selling trailers and improving the space. My husband and I have been looking for a trailer for a very long time, so we are happy that we finally found our oasis away from home!!
Another amazing week at Buckhorn Narrows - can’t beat the waterfront views! The cottages had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The owners are very friendly and have made a lot of updates to the resort grounds and the cottages - highly recommend!Rooms: 5/5
Our second year in a row coming to Buckhorn Narrows. The lakeside cabins are perfect and the family who runs the resort was very helpful in pointing us to a natural lazy river nearby as well as a local winery for an activity for the rainy day we had. Each cottage has a fire pit and I appreciated the full-sized kitchen appliances. Even in the last year, a lot of upgrades were made and I'm sure more will come even though everything is great as is.
Truly not a good place to buy or rent from. We made arrangements on Wednesday May 19th to see a trailer that was for sale and hopefully put an offer in. BUT no Friday the 21st at 6 pm we get a phone call telling us that the trailer is sold and nothing is available. We could have gone up earlier in the week if we know that it would have been sold behind our back. Quite obvious that the owners have no respect for anyone and only do what they want. Be careful people not nice new owners of park. Truly Disappointed.
These recent reviews are just trying to discredit the park, the owner, her reputation and her business. If a resident dislikes the owner so much with such bullying remarks, then they should leave the park, as there are many parks around. The park is very clean, well groomed, reasonable rates and one of the better parks in the Kawarthas. The rules have made the park a safe, family park, without loud noise and reckless people. Come visit the park for yourself, and talk to some of the residents who enjoy the park daily. Along with dedicated staff, the owner has changed a trailer park into a beautiful family resort and should be commended, not ridiculed and insulted. The cottages are reasonably priced, waterfront and clean; with many families that return every year. There are also many families in the resort with lots of children of all ages who enjoy the resort, the dances, candy store and activities. See for yourself, and beware of the insulting, slanderous reviews! As a long-time resident in the park, the negative reviews are nothing but bitter, angry, vindictive comments against the park and the owner, with inaccurate statements throughout. Whoever the people are, they should graciously leave the park. Any park is only as good as its staff, rules and regulations, and its owner. If the park is rated 10 by some of these reviews, then so should the staff and owner. Parks do not just become great parks by themselves. As far as we are concerned, the playground equipment is more than adequate, safe and legal. The pool, in particular, is very well maintained and serviced by a pool company annually, and a new addition was put in just a few years ago. It is in excellent condition and always kept clean. The rules have not changed in twenty years and they have made the park a safe, family park and have eliminated undesirables. In fact, I believe that many new vacation goers come to this park, because of the good rules. Again, we feel that these particular people, if residents should leave, being so dissatisfied, and stop trying to ruin the park for those of us who are happy with the park and its facilities. I recommend that you take your trailer elsewhere, and quit discrediting this beautiful resort. We thoroughly enjoy Buckhorn Narrows Resort and the staff who maintain it!
We are in our first full season here and enjoying it immensely. The new owners are very helpful and friendly and working very hard to improve their park. This year we have new boat docking facilities and the beach is getting ready with new sand being added along with new sand at the volleyball court. Looking forward to a fun summer with many new friends and activities.
We had recently stayed here with the family renting 3 cabins. No air conditioner, our mistake as we did not check that detail out before hand. It being 32• in the cabin, all weekend was unbearable - I know this because it was what it said on my son's baby monitor therefor we could not put him to bed the first two nights, we all decided to leave before the last night... just a heads up for anyone else debating whether you can manage with fans... all the cabins are tiny and trap heat with no air flow. I found the grounds very unsafe for our two year old toddler. There was an excavator machine sitting outside our cabin with a half diggin hole,  concrete steps up to the cabin with a deep drop and a park was full of hazards. The beach is a small corner of water which becomes over populated extremely fast, and the pool was no different. If you don't have small children and are looking to only enjoy some fishing and drinking then this place is fine for you. If you have small children and expect to be comfortable in the cabin, pool, beach or park I would not recommend this place. While a few family member thought the new owners were nice, I felt they were never there. The power went out for the afternoon Saturday, so cooking and flushing the toilets were scarse, but on in a few hours.
Basic cottages in need of updating. Small heater, no air conditioning but the breeze off the lake helps. Beautiful, small, clean, sandy beach. Each cottage has a BBQ, firepit, picnic table and Muskoka chairs. Most cottages have a good view of Buckhorn Lake. No on-site laundry facilities. Closest is a 20 minute drive to Lakehurst. There is a pool, but did not look at it this visit as it was closed. It is located a short walk away from the cottages. We have good memories from past visits. The most recent was satisfactory. We shall see what the current owners do with the place. NOTE: Double, triple, quadruple check that you have all of your belonging when you leave as they throw out what is left behind even if it might be useful for future guests.
Enjoyed a quiet week at the cottage. Cottage was clean. The beds could use an updating. Store should be open different hours and carry some of the necessities . Website stated there was activities such as bingo and horseshoes, there was no way of playing horseshoes in those pits, kids were disappointed that there was nothing . The beach was quite small but preferred to use the pool as the beach area that was roped off was full of seaweed and couldn't really swim. Couldn't really enjoy a fire because of the placement of the fire pit,its on such a slope you cant sit around it
