If you like a really noisy atmosphere with five or more TV screens distracting your dinner guest's attention away from conversation then this is the place for you! The service was really good. Everyone was eager to please and we appreciated that. The food was tasty too but the portion I was given was puny. I ordered the chicken salad with greens, dates and honey lime dressing. I don't like feta cheese and am allergic to walnuts so those items were left out. I was really surprised with the portion of food I got. I'm pretty accurate with measurements coming from diet culture and weighing and measuring my food for 12 years and I can say without a doubt that the portion of chicken less than 4 oz. If a customer asks for something to be left out, well, I don't know about you, but I would be inclined to add in more of something the customer wants. The price of the dish depends on the ingredients used. Feta cheese, walnuts, probably fairly pricey. Those were omitted so maybe add in a bigger handful of lettuce? My partner was satisfied with his burger and fries but I left Brown's Socialhouse still hungry after eating a teeny tiny piece of chicken and two cups of lettuce with a few cherry tomatoes and some dates. $22 for $5 worth of ingredients.
Excellent food and drinks served by awesome staff in a beautifully decorated place. Well priced delicious large portioned food served in a very friendly and inviting restaurant. Despite it being a little noisy, it is nonetheless lots of fun and enjoyable.
Dinner for 2 got the Gyoza to start, was very tasty and juicy 10/10. Got the Smokehouse burger w fries and Blackened Chicken Caesar salad. The burger was delicious as well as the fries. The salad was okay but the chicken was very salty & when mixed with the salad I couldn’t finish it but once told the server they graciously provided a discount on that dish. Happy with the experience overall, would come again & just order something different.
Downtown Ottawa has so many options to choose from.but we decided to try Browns Socialhouse. Their terrace is open but we sat inside seeing it was a bit windy We were greeted by their friendly staff quickly, once we looked through the menu we knew exactly what to order. Nice variety in their menu, everything looked amazing , and the burgers.. massiveeeee The wait for the food was reasonable, watch the hockey games highlights and enjoyed our time. bar is located in the center of the restaurant and so many drinks to choose from. The food was great I would go back on my next ottawa visit
The staff were helpful and friendly. I had the fish & chips and was very disappointed with the portion size of the meal. The fish was good tasting but the amount served is 1 piece cut in half, not a 2 piece meal. Standard size fork in picture for comparison. Atmosphere would have been enjoyable if not for the infestation of what I think were fruit flies coming from the restroom area. Has room for improvement, the staff busted it out during a busy lunchtime. The poki bowls have not disappointed in the past. Don't sit in back near restrooms.
This lovely atmosphere restaurant we ordered 2 Apps, dessert and 1 Main with upgraded sweet potato fries for the high price of around 70. The highlight dish was definitely the Nachos because each chip has toppings no matter if it was on top or at the bottom of the plate the Nachos had toppings. For that reason alone 5 stars. Staff is also great and fun atmosphere.
Service was 11/10 - didn’t get his name but he was very attentive and super friendly! Portion sizes are slightly smaller than barrhaven location but food is just as good. Calamari looked underwhelm but still tastes great. 100% would recommend the nachos, Florida special sandwich and blackened chicken fettuccine Alfredo. Winter hours are slightly different from summer hours kitchen closes earlier and no social/happy hour on certain days
Service was fast! We both had a burger and quite enjoyed it. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Only complaint would be that it would have been nice to have gotten a refill on our drinks sooner but that is a small detail. I'd go back to this location.Food: 5/5
Arrived very tired and jet lagged form multiple connecting flights. It was 4 degrees and due to the protests most places to eat eat were closed. We googled places open near us and found browns social house was a block away. They had a very eclectic menu and let me clarify being from the south, it was only 4 degrees, so location ment alot, and it was open. Outside looked awesome if it was summer time, inside was a mix of class and elegance with hipster bar. It was warm and comfortable. Due to the mandates, it was empty. We had to show proof of vaccination just to enter, but honestly I loved to quiet atmosphere and personal attention. Menu is crazy original. We had pork dumplings in chili sauce for appetizer. No picture because we devoured them so quickly. Some of the best burgers I've ever tasted. Honestly, top 10 burger of all time no matter what country. Also got a gralic butter steak cooked exactly as requested and very delicious. Now the drinks. Most of you know my reviews on drinks is considered on how well you can make a basic margarita. Its an easy drink but can be messed up just as easily. I also judge on simple options such as sugar on the rim verse salt and is there a fresh lime or orange or none at all etc. So simply put, top 3 margarita ever. And I've had alot. Staff was incredible, atmosphere was great and food delicious. If visiting Ottawa I recommend this place. It is however very popular we found out at night. We tried to go back for drinks and it was packed, reservation only. This shows just how popular to the locals it is as well. In a city full of great food and bars, browns social house nears the top of the list of all around quality.
I am always so pleased when I go to Brown's Social House. The staff at this location are very friendly. I always get the nachos but eat them before I remember to take a pic! Everything is fresh and full of flavour!
