Having faith in their team, after months of being on the waiting list, was a huge mistake. Therapy can hide charlatans and I’m sorry to say this place doesn’t know how to recognize them. Seek help elsewhere. I’ve been obliged to seek counselling a few times in my life. I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with them, even when they challenged me. I welcome it. But that’s not what I got at Broadview. My experience was one entirely of the arrogance, bias, and over-simplified analysis of the counsellor - an embarrassment to the profession. I’m astonished that my counsellor still has a job there so I can only conclude Broadview isn’t aware of their work or doesn’t care. Neither reflects well on Broadview.
All of the clinicians that I have met for myself and my family have been exceptional. They have walked with our family through some very dark moments and continue to help us to learn to be the people that we were made to be. They are well educated, compassionate, understanding, knowledgeable and patient. I think that everyone would benefit from DBT, and this is an excellent place to get the whole package. If you already have a therapist, they are still willing to have you do a DBT group with them.
Seeking therapy is a valiant and courageous effort. Kudos to you for taking this massive step! If you are reading this, it is likely because you are considering therapy here. And when I did, I equated the sizeable cost, time commitment, and study/practice effort asked of clients at Broadview with a higher likelihood of this therapy helping to make my life better. I can tell you that I spent about 10K over 9 months, worked hard, studied hard, and in that time, I graduated from their program! However, the program didn't work for me. My life did not get all that much better. And I grew interested in finding out why Broadview wasn't the right fit. I have since learned that genuine empathy that clinicians develop for their clients, and the trust this fosters between them, is perhaps the single biggest indicator of success in therapy. However, achieving genuine empathy for clients is a skill that can take years and years for a clinician to develop. Broadview is a clinic that accepts newly graduated psychologists, and in group therapy, the psychologists there are sometimes still studying. What this means for us as clients who are often highly attuned to slight shifts in emotions from others is that we can sense when a clinician's empathy is a little rehearsed or slightly put on. We also understand, on an innate level, that what is being asked of us in group therapy are things that the clinicians themselves are unlikely to be living in their own lives abstinence from alcohol, for example. And when we encounter enough of this dissonance, the therapeutic environment can begin to feel disingenuous, which can feel grating to clients who are sensitive to the world in general. As a result, no matter how much money, time and practice we commit to Broadview as clients, these experiences over time can leave us inhibited from forming true connection with our clinicians, leading to a gap in real trust. And therefore, successful therapeutic outcomes are unlikely. This, I believe, is why there are so many up votes on the more negative comments for Broadview on Google Maps. I wasn't able to fully describe the dissonance I experienced as a client at Broadview at the time, but I'm able to put my feelings into words now, after a great deal of reflection and study of my own. If I were to provide you any advice, it would be to take the time to interview as many clinicians as you can before commiting to one, no matter the program. And don't stop interviewing until you've landed on someone you feel you can really open up to. That trust is vital to positive outcomes in therapy, more than anything else including the type of program. If it is DBT you're after, above all else, remember that it is a grueling journey that requires immense support. Finding a clinician you feel connected to and that you feel you can build trust with, is all the more important to achieving positive outcomes. Hopefully this helps you in finding the right clinician and therapy for you. And remember, you are not alone
I had a horrible experience. I should have never trusted my therapist. I believed they were going to support me but the therapist has caused a horrible situation for me and I am now more depressed than ever. Please do not waste your time and money here. I promise you that it is not worth it. Due to Broadview Psychology, I've given up on seeking help from these licensed "professionals". They take your money and you will not see self improvement.
After dealing with depression for almost ten years, this is the very first time I am beginning to feel alive again. Entered the CBT / DBT program for depression & adhd. It has been a lot of hard work emotionally but i’ve had the most significant improvement to my overall well-being in just a few months. My individual psychotherapist is great and insightful, she and i were able to build a rapport very quickly. She is intuitive and really can redirect a meeting instantly if she can see where some things need to be adjusted. My group therapists work really well together, they are both strong teachers and leaders on their own, but they allow everyone in our group to be seen and hear, they communicate directly and they are able to relate teaching skills to a very diverse group of people. I believe that going into this program requires a lot of commitment and responsibility from the client. The skills, the homework, the techniques make you face all of the challenges and issues within your life and its not easy. There is no hiding any of the baggage, you realize that quickly. With that said, everything I am learning is allowing me to carry the weight a lot easier and its finally lighter and bearable.
This place really helped me with my mental health issues, the most notable thing is the parent group. Its changed my relationship with my mom greatly. Most of the tharapists are great. The only downsides are the price and how they keep trying to get you to come back. I was doing ok and just needed meds but I kept having to go to exspensive sessions for nothing because they were pressuring me into it. The environment is comfortable and it really did help me in the beginning. This place has great tharapy for teenagers and I would recommend it.
We were charged $260 for 50 min session to overview the DBT Peer group for this Atrocious facility located in a family home. The bathrooms have remnant tub/shower from the former tenant - with the toilet plunger stashed in the shower!!!! Hard to convince a teen to walk in when signage is worn down and shovels strewn across the front porch. We had high hopes as we need this DBT group therapy - but my daughter won't go back!

2 months in, and I hadn’t learned a single thing. No improvement whatsoever in my BPD symptoms, despite religiously doing the homework, attending sessions, etc. Staff is all young pretty women, perhaps to provide some kind of allure to a facility that takes your money and gives you nothing in return.
I wouldn’t recommend anyone to go here they literally just made things so much worse! The things they did to me! I’ll never ever forget it just waste of time and money! Again I repeat they don’t deserve no one!!
