The Official Facebook Page for the Bristol County District Attorney's Office
Welcome to the Official Facebook Page of the Bristol County District Attorney's Office.
The office operated under the leadership of District Attorney C. Samuel Sutter starting in 2007. Sutter won re-election once more in 2010 and served in the position until January 2nd 2015, having been sworn in as the new Mayor of Fall River one week prior on December 30th, 2014. Governor Deval Patrick then appointed acting First Assistant District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn to fill Sutter's position in the District Attorney's Office. DA Quinn was officially sworn in on January 5th, 2015.
Note: Under the leadership of DA Sutter, the office made strides in a number of initiatives - most prominently in deterring gun violence. In addition, the office made headlines for solving cold cases, successfully enhanced victim services, and improved prosecution and prevention in special victims units including crimes of child abuse, elder abuse, and sexual assault. Of additional interest, DA Sutter launched a unique Volunteer Initiative in 2007, resulting in a contribution of more than 20,000 hours of community service throughout Bristol County - all by the staff of the DA's office before or after work hours.
