Bread & Roses Bakery Cafe

I used to frequent this business quite a few years ago. It had wonderful cakes, coffee, and sandwiches. It has clearly changed hands in business ownership. All but on employee was Chinese. This is no longer a European bakery, it is only Bread & Roses by name, it is just a sad attempt. The names was bought, along with the business, and existing clientele. The language barrier between employees, and customers was annoying at times as I encountered sitting at a table near the counter. The cake i ordered was stale. Behind the counter was messy, and disorganized. The bathroom smelled of urine, and mold. It appeared someone is continually wiping something from their nose onto a certain spot on the wall (men's washroom). I wish I had inspected the bathroom before I even ordered anything to eat/drink. I believe this is a good indication of cleanliness as far as food establishment goes.

Great coffee. Awesome service and the food is so good. Cozy and friendly atmosphere. The only downside is how small the venue is. During the summer eating out on the patio is the best.

This place is delightful. A hidden gem with great desserts and lunch type food. Coffee is stellar. Good date place or small group meet up

Their selection and quality of baked products and pastries is really impressive. Recommend the Strawberry Danish, delicious!

Fantastic sandwiches made to order on fresh bread and excellent baked dessert. Their turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce on potato bread and a macaroon for dessert is my goto, but they also have a wide range of other baked goods such as cupcakes, huge danishes, and while fresh loaves of bread.
