I tried many items but the only one I liked was dahi puri, other then that I was not at all satisfied with anything. Service is good friendly staff. But they should work on keeping the taste up. Huge menu and it's not expensive.they can try to to improve the taste and increase the price too .Food: 3/5
Brar’s Pakwan, Islinton Avenue is a small , laid back eatery unlike its parent Buffet bar. To me this place is more of take out even thoug it has seating . Place and people dont take overall very seriously as it appears. The thali options are still most economical in the GTA although i sometimes feel the curries and sabjis are leftovers from buffet restaurant. Chaats are just ok although paapdi chaat has been consistent. Fresh paranthas are of nice quantity amd taste good. Sweets are regular but for jalebis ghee made depending on when its made. Service is average
Good food though heavy on the oil, especially with the dry vegetables. But overall tasty. Ambience can do better, loud music blaring and furniture etc can do better. Place looks outdated. Offers vegetarian food only . Come for the food and don't get your hopes too high on service or ambience.Food: 4/5
I'm picky about Indian food here. I know some like it hot and greasy, but not me. This has homestyle food not too rich or spicy. And they have a variety of food to pick from.Food: 5/5
Casual Indian lunch. Staff are very nice. The dishes had some winners. My favorite was the chickpea dish. Looked like Chana Masala. The mango lassi was also really good.
I had ordered veg thali and samosas but it was awful. The peas used in samosa as well as sabzi was contaminated. They smelled staple, also rice were undercooked. Horrible food, it was waste of money. Zero stars and no recommendation at all.Food: 1/5
Loved this place for 10-15yrs but both service and food quality have declined. Especially service. If more than 4 customers walk in, the staff cannot handle it & everyone will be served VERY slowly. I had to wait 25min for a thali ? - this should be the fastest serving item on the menu. And either they are serving old food more often or adding more oil. It doesn’t feel healthy.
We ordered Manchurian. They tasted stale and were so hard as if they were made of chicken. We couldnt eat and had to garbage two plates of manchurian : I do not recommend this place. Also there is weird smell at the restaurant.
Today weather was good so I thought to buy some samosa and pakoda But when i came home and was about to eat my 2lb pakodas in them i got 1lb oil and 1lb pakoda It was terrible experience And I think they want to serve oil but mistakenly added samosa in it It was soo so much oily Thank god i have my health card with me so i am able to get my treatment right away if i got any heart problems or high cholesterol So my suggestion to public is if you don’t have health card or enough money for your treatment please don’t visit here And last but not least if u are cooking in home and u don’t have vegetable oil u can visit them and get samosa and pakoda and u can squeeze them and u can get enough oil for your one month cooking at home by purchasing just 2lb pakodas and just 4-5 samosas
Food quality is not to die for, most of the curries are sauce based meaning they add different vegetables or cottage cheese to same base. Not a place to experience veggie padodas either.Food: 3/5
