Brantford Family YMCA

The place is a great facility for all ages. As a new parent our son can enjoy all the different amenities from the time he’s 1 till he’s 18. With a pool, sauna, and gym it’s an optimal place to relax and enjoy yourself. They are even promoting one free weeks trial to assimilate yourselves within.

A nice surprise to have such nice facility in Brantford. The building is renovated recently and have number of activities and programs. The gym and swimming pools are very nice. I visit often with my kids to do swimming. The pool is decent size and the environment is pleasant. However, the change rooms are very few and very small in size. Another drawback is there is no proper lounge or sitting area for the parents. The area at the foyer is used as waiting area but there are only few chairs. Many people have to keep standing due to lack of chairs. Not sure why the facility doesn’t arrange for more chairs. The building doesn’t have their own parking or street parking. However, you can park in the covered paid parking across the street. But you can get a token from YMCA reception and show it to the parking attendant at the exit which renders the parking free for up to 2 hrs. I avoid the elevators and stairway of the parking as they stink horribly. No care from the City just like anything else.

They are the best. I recently lost my one card, the staff was so cooperative and friendly 'Judy'. called and informed me about my card too. The maintenance is excellent.

Pool is too small the gyms are small and overcrowded. Way too expensive even with subsidy given for people on odsp I went to Wayne Gretzky sports center instead cheaper and my monthly pass gives me access to pool gym and classes for 33 dollars a month.

Was alright but very expensive even under a subsidy, now you have to take your parking ticket in for tokens, I usually leave it in the car so it doesn't get lost. Ridiculous policies

My daughter and I are new to Brantford and we just went for a tour of the YMCA and received a free weeks pass. Matt was fantastic . It's BEAUTIFUL and CLEAN and HUGE. I just want to swim all my troubles away.I might even pick up a weight or two....or three, lol

They ve got a great setup here for families. Sundays 9 to 5 one of the best days to go!

The Brantford YMCA is the nicest looking location I have visited and I have visited a lot of YMCA's in my lifetime. The pools and workout areas are very modern, neat, and tidy. The staff are very personable and the hours of operation could not be more accomodating. I would be happy to give them 5 stars but I will only give them 4. This is why: There are no weigh scales in the change rooms where they would be most handy to track your accurate weight. You have to get dressed and go up a floor to the workout area and weigh yourself fully clothed. This is an easy fix and has been mentioned to the staff. Another peeve is the lockers. They are almost all half lockers which is way too small. In the winter if you walk to the YMCA you better not bring your coat or you'll need two lockers and hence two padlocks. This is another simple fix but it hasn't happened yet.With these two minor problems fixed I would say this particular YMCA is the best in the world.

i enrolled my son with soccer and swimming it was good untill today on his swimming class theres an incident while my son was with lady instructor doing a swim class accidentally my 6 year old son pulled her hair during the lesson due to he is struggling to float on a deep pool water at some point she push my son let him swim towards the life guard that hand a floating board considering my kid was already struggling, after the incident they talked to my son about pulling hair and i understand that but what i dont get it is the instructor draw a line with my 6 year old son who keep sayng sorry to her and ignoring him and another lady instrutor shouted to my son to BACK OFF! and i dont think its appropriate for a 6 year old kid instructor should have more patience specially with this kind of activity and the age group of their student! not nice and not recommended!!

Has a total of 5 badminton courts, lots of other amenities like swimming and gym.
