Very secluded canp sites, however did not have electricity or enough close bathroom facilities. Had to take the car each time we had to go, not fun. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would have preferred more convenieces. Probably will not return. It's not fair us.

My summer home. Huge campsites, big fire places. It's great for people who love camping and privacy.

If you enjoy actual camping, where you have a little bit of space, and a little privacy, this campground is excellent. No water or electrical hookups. This place is a little off the beaten path, but was worth the trip, and we'll definitely be back. The staff were friendly, and you could tell that they try hard to take care of the place and keep it well cared for. There are many many good sites here. It would have to be a jam packed 4th of July weekend with no reservation for you not to be able to find at least one that worked for you. Very few of them are "on top" of each other, except for a few that are purposely that way for group/family camping. A very decent place to fish/boat with kids. Nice beach with concessions, and a playground.

This is a nice, well-maintained campground and overall facility. If you are here just for the day, there is a nice beach area that's supervised and orderly, with clean restrooms (albeit quite dated) and canoe/kayak rentals. On the weekends there is a concession that sells simple foods and drinks (breakfast burritos, hot dogs, etc.). The hiking trails are nicely kept and there are several options for going around the lake and the surrounding areas.
If you are camping, there are quite a few open spots for tents or campers, and they seem to have added simple cabins in a few of the sites. These are just wooden cabins with what looks like bunk beds--no electricity, water, kitchen, or anything else. None of the sites have electric or water hookups, so this campground is more rustic. The fire pits are also more like one-sided chimneys, so if you are looking for a campground where everyone can sit in a circle around the fire, you would want to look elsewhere. Dogs are also allowed everywhere, whereas there are some state parks where there are "no dog" areas.
The people camping here seemed courteous for the most part and the area was generally quiet during the posted "quiet hours" of 10pm - 8am. There was one group near us who blasted a radio late into the night, but generally you should consider yourself lucky if you're camping near only one rude group, as opposed to several.

We did Polar plunge 2017 there... Beautiful place but pretty far out there... Especially if you don't know the area well
