We were visiting from out of the country, and really wanted to try some good pastries from a nice French-style bakery. I love croissants and so many reviews mentioned the croissants here that we placed an order 2 sandwiches, 6 assorted croissants, and a coffee through UberEats. Waited over an hour for delivery but when it finally came, the driver said “I think your drink is leaking.” Lo and behold, the bakery had packed the open coffee loose, with no padding or buffer to keep it from tipping, in the same overlarge box with the pastries and sandwiches, then taped it shut - obviously, leaking ensued. The cup had fallen over and 80% of the coffee had leaked out, soaking the sandwiches and the bottoms of all the pastries, and soaking through the box. I took pictures of the damage but was denied a refund through UberEats. This is because of the bakery. I’ve never seen a drink packed so thoughtlessly, just loose in this huge box with no way to prevent it from tipping over. Don’t offer drinks for delivery if you can’t pack them appropriately, or protect the pastries with plastic if you put them in the same box, or pack something around the drink to keep it from spilling - so many solutions, none of which were applied. I gave two stars simply because the croissants indeed looked delicious, until you flipped them over and found soggy coffee-soaked bottoms.
The cashier was a sweetheart. Very friendly with the consumers, cares about ones experience and takes the time to walk the costumer through the menu. Delicious coffee at a very surprisingly low price
Really excellent bakery with the very best croissant in the area. We've tried them all throughout the years. None manages to capture the texture and taste of Gate toi.
A pleasant discovery, their chocolatine and their croissants are the BEST!! I've ordered many times and the pastries always come fresh.
Ordered a vegetarian croissant and it was the worst croissant i've had in my entire life. Basically full of canned veggies full of vinegar which made the whole thing literally wet. not even soggy. second it is so poorly packaged that when I got my ordered even the bag it came in was wet and smelled like vinegar. Leaving two stars because the hot chocolate I ordered with it was pretty decent.
This is my favourite place for almond chocolatine. I usually buy frozen almond chocolatine in bulk and bake at home. One of the best pastry in the neighbourhood . Very friendly
Amazing sandwiches and vienoiseries. Great cost quality ratio.
Seriously... the BEST croissant and chocolatine I have ever had in Montreal! Perfection! Dont just order one, you will regret it.
Possibly the best croissants in Montreal... and I've had quite a few. If you really want to treat yourself, try their horn-shaped cream-filled pastry. It is INSANE.
Very friendly staff, great service.
