Bonneville Hot Springs Resort & Spa

Probably best that they are closing! DON'T go there! They totally ruined our anniversary, I asked for the king luxury suite when I called weeks ahead for reservations, but that's not what we were given! We got there and they put us in a dark ugly room smaller than our bedroom at home! I've been in MUCH better rooms for half the price. It was not well cleaned and the whole "resort" stunk of chlorine. When we went right back to the front desk to let them know the room was completely unacceptable, they didn't seem to care! One of them just kept saying " the room you wanted is for up to 6 people" OK, so unless things have suddenly changed... 2 is still less then 6... Right ? And that the " room" they put us in is one of their most requested ( WHY?! It's small, dark and not really what I consider a nice room!) They claim they've refunded my money but at this point it's not back in my checking account yet... I was told to try Carson hot springs, but I'm afraid to, since they own it too, and this experience was so AWFUL! I'm just hoping my money shows up at this point! I feel like we ordered a full steak dinner and were served a McDonald's kiddie meal! This was our only chance to get away this year and took alot of planning to cover responsibilities at home for the night, to have them ruin it and not even care is just disgusting! Friends and family thought it was incredibly rude that they didn't offer us so much as a soak in the pool to make up for their total screw up! ( Not that we would have... between the chlorine smell and all the noisy children running around!) All I can say is don't waste your money there! Too many other places actually CARE about their guests! I'm just glad to know they're closing!

The drive from Portland is absolutely beautiful, and the resort is located in a quaint and quiet area tucked in the mountains. There is a rustic feel while maintaining elegance and cleanliness. The staff was pleasant and the spa had a great atmosphere to it. It's a shame the location is closing soon!

We loved our stay here! The resort was beautiful and the pool, hot tubs, and sauna were fabulous. The food was good and reasonably priced as well! The only reason we can't give it a 5 star review is because they wanted to charge for a crib. Out of 8 hotels we stayed at on our trip this was the only one to charge for a crib.

It had snowed up there 3 days before we went up. We watched car after car struggle to make it out of the parking lot. People were getting soaked, falling and slipping everywhere. One young male employee was out helping people shovel snow and push cars, which was sweet of him but as for the rest of the hotel staff they could care less. For 300+ a night plow your parking lot for guests! It took my friends and I 30 minutes and soaking wet shoes to get out. I wish it would stay open to the public but have a better staff/owners. sad to see this money pit go but somewhat happy I won't have the temptation to waste my money there any longer.

Attended a professional event at BHS for 3 days and two nights. The facilities are worth the stay alone but the service is above and beyond what someone would expect. Above that the facility staff were so helpful for the event that there were some members that I thought were apart of the event staff. If you are looking for a location to host an event, this is it. You will not be sorry. If you are looking for a nice weekend getaway that is outdoorsy and relaxing, this is the place for you.
