The food was awesome as was the service. We truly enjoyed our meal and the restaurant's ambiance, decor and music were all enjoyable. Vegetarian options: Numerous options Parking: Convenient, close by
Service 5/5 From the time we stepped through the entrance, we were treated with excellent service. The young man sat us down, promptly took our order, and brought the food out quickly. I was impressed that when we ordered the daal, he even informed us that they didn’t have the black daal, only the yellow if we were ok with that, showing he has a good understanding of what’s going on in the kitchen. The owner Raj was also pleasant with refilling our water, telling us the Maine freshwater was very good, and conversing with my Indian in-laws. Food 5/5 We ordered chicken tikka masala, lamb curry, shahi korma, saag paneer, daal makhani, peshwari naan, garlic naan, mango lassi, lassi, and everything was delicious. The family said this is the best Indian food they’ve had since coming to the New England area 7 years ago. Both mother and father gave the A-OK sign. The spices were well balanced, and the paneer and meat were well cooked, it tasted authentic just like the flavors in Northern India, they were super happy. Ambience 5/5 nice Indian art on the walls in ceilings, but not overbearing, with some light Bollywood music in the background. It felt clean. The bathroom in particular was clean and artistically arranged as well. Price 5/5 The prices were reasonable for the quality of food we received, and the lunch prices made it even more pocket-friendly. We would definitely come back again!
Had a lovely and delicious dinner on a Friday night June '21. Five of us enjoyed pappadam, garlic naan, mixed vegetable paratha, saag paneer, chana masala, malai kofta, and dal makhani. The indoor seating was not full at the time we were there so we sat at our table for a while after we finished and talked and the wait staff were great and refilled our drinks rather than ignoring or trying to get rid of us like sometimes happens. The interior is nicely decorated and they had incense burning but not so much that it competed with the aroma of the food or gave you a headache, which also sometimes happens. Will definitely go back. Also the lassi regular was good.
The waitstaff are so friendly! The food is amazing! I've been known to drive from augusta for takeout! The place is always packed but we usually get right in when we do eat there. Reservations are recommended!Food: 5/5
We had a wonderful experience here at Bombay Mahal. Never knew that Maine had such a good Indian restaurant. We walked in to see so many awards and newspaper mentions of them. This establishment has been in the Brunswick area for the past 30 years which itself says a lot about it. My friends are tea snobs and the tea served here made them extremely happy. The malai kofta and vegetable paratha were very delicious. We devoured their gulab jamuns that we had ordered for dessert. My friends had ordered chicken tikka as an appetizer and it didn’t even take a minute for them to polish off as soon as it was on our table. Our bill was very reasonable for the number of items ordered. I’d definitely recommend a visit here if you are in Maine and are searching for Indian food.
We were traveling to this area and decided to try Indian food. We ordered takeout. First, I gave an extra star because the guy who took my order was very nice to us, however, the food was not so good. We ordered chicken biryani, mutter paneer, raita, garlic naan and plain naan and we received some chutneys on the side. We also asked for cut up onions on the side. Our bill was $48 which is way too much for the portions and quality we got. The chicken biryani was bland, the chicken was not cooked properly and had vegetables like carrots and chickpeas in it which shouldnt have. Also did not come with any raita. The mutter paneer was not cooked, the peas were kind of raw, it was also bland and didnt have much salt. Also the paneer pieces were huge. But it came with rice which the rice wasnt bad but it does also have carrots in it. The raita was creamy and no salt it has tomatoes cucumber. The naan was burnt and it didnt look or taste like naan, i think they were made of whole wheat but no taste whatsoever. The food here is bland and thats not what indian food tastes also not worth the price. Wouldn't recommend if you like real indian food with taste.
Without a doubt, the best Indian restaurant around! Every time we go here the food is constantly amazing with top-notch service.Food: 5/5
$40 worth of food? Come on. Not much chicken in the curry. Tandoori was 100% drumsticks??!!?? Where was the $17 crispy breast? Two separate main dishes yet only one rice and two pieces of Naan. Pretty sad considering the other Indian place is right down the street with better prices and bigger portions. Sorry. Not sorry.
Absolutely amazing!! Great service, and the best Indian food I've ever had
Excellent food and amazing service. You're missing out if you're not eating here!
