Bodine Perry LLC

I do not recommend hiring them for your accounting needs. They are not detailed or customer oriented, as they claim to be on their website. The first year, they did not figure our city tax correctly. Told us we owed nothing. Thankfully, before filing, I questioned it since we paid city every year before. Only then did they discover they were wrong. Another year my husband had a phone conversation with our CPA, and at no point was he aware that the call was considered billable time. Shortly after, we got a bill for $65. I understand it’s a business to make money, but a little heads up about it being considered billable before or during the call would've been nice. Eventually just decided to file on our own, rather than paying Bodine Perry hundreds of dollars each year. Recently, we received 2 back-to-back notices from the IRS for issues with a tax filing Bodine Perry did for us 2 years prior. Bodine Perry investigated the notices and discovered one issue was their fault and we now owed $600 back taxes, but the other notice was a mistake the IRS made. So, Bodine Perry charged us a $125 fee for investigating the other notice, even though they knew we had to pay back taxes due to a mistake they made for that same tax year. We called to question if the fee to Bodine Perry was still owed. When contacted back, the caller was extremely rude. So, I assume she deals with unsatisfied customers a lot. Because boy was her guard up. The Bodine Perry employee kept talking over me and wouldn't allow me to explain why I felt we should not be charged any more fees for anything pertaining to a tax year in which they made a mistake. I mean, we did already pay Bodine Perry hundreds of dollars 2 years ago with the understating our taxes would've been filed CORRECTLY that year! This caller, on behalf of Bodine Perry, did not care. According to her, if I did not pay this bill they would not be able to pay their employees. REALLY? I’d imagine the $725 we were expected to now come up with affected our budget as a struggling, family of four a lot more than $125 would affect their company budget. I asked her if the money was more important than maintaining a client relationship, she responded by telling me we were already not a customer anymore since we have been doing our own taxes so why would that matter to them. She then said if I wished to continue the conversation she would have to start charging me because her time is billable too. So that is when the call and the customer relationship with Bodine Perry officially ended for us, for good!
