We love this place. Great service, Ben seemed to be the on my server on the floor. Taking orders, cashing out and busing and cleaning in between. He was friendly, attentive and we had no issues with our food either. Food is always delicious. Restaurant was clean and cozy. We do not get the pleasure of eating here often but always a happy outing when we do. Thanks Ben
Yesterday I placed an order at Bob Evans for the country fried steak three-course dinner anda side of carrots. Firstly, I was refused crackers for my soup. Secondly, I was given no butter for my bread. Thirdly, although the carrots were ordered separately for another individual my chicken fried steak dinner had the carrots and corn in there, but my mashed potatoes were not included. I ordered chicken fried steak with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy and corn. Separately I ordered a side of carrots for another individual, not myself. However, once my order got home to me the mashed potatoes were completely omitted and instead the carrots and corn were in my container. If you’re ordering a vegetable as a side it shouldn’t be assumed that that means it is for the same person in the same meal. I’ve been dining and ordering takeout from Bob Evans for many years and although I understand times are tight currently I couldn’t imagine being told, if I were eating in the restaurant, that I cannot have crackers for my soup. Nor can I imagine being told I can’t have butter for my rolls.. But then to also discover my mashed potatoes were omitted and the side for my son of carrots was placed into the same food container which got gravy all over them as well was the final straw. Basically, about half my order was not included. I also ordered the holy cow chocolate cake which is supposed to come with some type of whipped topping but all I received was the cake and none of the topping. I am extremely disappointed with this order and to ensure that I could properly bring to the attention of management that my order was so severely botched I took photos of the meal along with the receipt where it clearly shows there was a chicken fried steak meal with mashed potatoes country gravy and corn and a side of carrots. It also lists the vegetable beef soup and the holy cow dessert. Like I said, I was given no crackers for the soup, no butter for the rolls and no mashed potatoes that I paid for and instead of serving the carrots separately since they were ordered as an independent side it was assumed they were part of my meal and placed in my food container which made it very difficult to serve it to another person at my home. I felt this was a bad enough experience that it should be addressed. Of course there have been minute mistakes over the years with my orders, but never to this magnitude. I’m extremely disappointed in Bob Evans for the first time in many many years of being a frequent diner of theirs. Just because we’re in the middle of a pandemic and things are a little tight does not mean you should skimp on the important parts of a persons meal That they paid for.
We had a small family Christmas dinner tonight and thought we would make it easy and order a Bob Evens family dinner. We ordered Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and macaroni & cheese. The chicken was over cooked, burnt, and dry. Macaroni and cheese was dry as if it was cooked and packaged hours ago. My husband drove the 15 minutes back to Bob evens to get new chicken and macaroni and the new stuff was just as bad. Nothing tasted good. Definitely not worth $55. We would have been better off ordering fast food.
Whenever we're unable to gather with family for a holiday meal and there's only two of us, we count on Bob Evans for their holiday turkey meal with all the sides. They've never let us down. We often say it compares to our mother's cooking–and that is high praise. It's hard to replicate the cooking of two talented mothers. The portions have always been more than satisfactory, the flavors are delightful and the order process is a breeze. On one occasion many years ago we turned to Boston Market for the same. We never made that mistake again. All this and Bob Evan's staff in Holland MI is always so welcoming and helpful. We always miss loved ones when celebrating holidays alone but at least we don't miss the opportunity for a great meal. Thank you!
Being from California I’ve never eaten at a Bob Evan’s before. Wow! What a treat! My husband got some sort of honey chicken and I got the chicken fried steak. Yummy! The front host really had it organized and moving right along up front even though there was a small wait. Our waitress was super nice and efficient! I believe her name was Michelle. I bought a cute little stuffed chicken on the way out.
I'm sorry I had to give such a low rating for such a simple order. I ordered a cob salad that was COVERED in blue cheese that wasn't indicated on the menu. I tried to scrape off every last bit. It just overtook the salad which made it inedible. The staff was incredibly friendly tho. Bathrooms were not clean either. :- it really makes me sad to have given a low score, I know these are important to future patrons and the establishment.
I love Bob evens and have considered marrying their breakfast sausage I love it so much and Jimmy dean. I've been to numerous Bob Evans, and this One rates the lowest...I went on a Sunday morning Which for breakfast restaurant is like a Friday night in the hospitality biz....so you would think that food Would be on Point, You'd have your A team going and things would be timely. This is not the case, no offense to our waitress, she did fine for what she had to work with. But I almost sent my omelet back which I've never done in my life. Everything tasted like it was made with old grease, my food looked dirty. My potatoes were so dry I almost blew them away lol. It was small it was messy looking it was just A real let down cause boy do I get excited about a good plate of sunday breakfast! It just wasn't a good Bob Evans, I don't know how but it managed to be very clamory in there as well. Tip: The ihop in town is way better.
All the staff was quite young, but so friendly and eager to help. It was a very pleasant experienc. We were there for dinner and most of the crowd was elderly. I witnessed the patience, kindness and compassion of the staff. Oh yes.... and the food was good too. :
Long wait times, but the food was delicious! So worth the wait! Though I did feel like we were forgotten.Food: 5/5
So glad we stopped here tonight! The food was awesome and so was the service. Thank you to the Holland Bob Evan's for an enjoyable meal with my mom.
