Blueberry Hill Farms

A long day of driving, thru the tunnel from OR into CA. And I start to think of blueberries. Surely I can find an organic berry farm on the North CA coast. And then, just as the road starts to open up as it comes into Crescent City, THERE IT IS! Blueberry Hill Farms - delicious reasonably priced organic berries right off the bushes behind the barn. Nice talk with the owner and then scored a big flat of berries that took us down the coast for several days as well as few jars of their delicious less sugar blueberry jam. Yes, they also have a fully sugared version. You a blueberry junkie? Then don't pass this place by....

Stopped on a Sunday when they were closed and Rick kindly helped us with directions and sold us some berries. Turns out he grew up in Lakewood and fished out of Westport! Small World

The best blueberries! We camp at Jed Smith Redwoods State Park every year and always stop here (providing they are open for the season) for a flat or two of blueberries. People at the farm have always been very pleasant and helpful.

They are very rude to people. They told the kids they could run in the field then yelled at them for doing it, freaked out on my friends disabled mother for having a very small service dog near the blueberries, but let their large dog run around peeing on blueberry bushes and it even peed on my friends moms walker. They have decently priced organic blueberries but I don't think I will be going back there again =(
