I had been going to doctor Blicker for The the last 6 years. I am happy to be his patient. The office run like a clock work ! Very efficient. Always on time and never waiting more than few minutes. He is a great doctor and does not waste his time or my time. My eyes improved and he was able to avoid loosing my eyesight. I always felt I am in good hands. We are lucky to have him.
Dr. Blicker is there to make sure your eyes are healthy not to make friends and give you the warm and fuzzes. He is a good eye specialist and I have been seeing him for years. That is his job. If you want a friendly chatter box go to the hair dresser. We hardly have any doctors as it is- so unless he was very rude or unprofessional who cares if he is not merry sunshine. His experience in invaluable. We have a doctor shortage for goodness sakes. If he can do his job that is all that counts.
Do yourself a favour and ask for a referral for any other ophthalmologist office. First of all, I specifically asked if I would be okay to drive home after my appointment and came by myself, the doctor dilated my eyes without telling me and my vision was impaired so I was stranded and had to find someone to pick me up. The receptionist was condescending and rude, saying that “most people can drive home no problem” and to wait then even though it can take four hours to wear off Secondly, I had to book two appointments while I was there and I specifically ASKED if someone would call me to confirm and they said NO so I put them in my calendar. I called in sick two days before my first appointment because I had strep throat. When I came for my second appointment assuming everything was fine and we would rebook the second appointment, the receptionist was rude and denied receiving a message obviously someone made a mistake at the office and can’t do their job properly!! and said I would have to pay a rebooking fee because they canceled my appointment.she also said that what I was told was untrue - I got jerked around and treated with disrespect. I ended up walking out of there. I honestly feel like I was treated unfairly being a younger patient, my entire experience was not taken seriously. I will be making formal complaint / claim. Message to the staff there: learn to have some compassion in a medical office. You’re making lives more miserable in sensitive environment.
Had a great experience here - Dr. Blicker was kind and welcoming and did a great job checking on my eye health. He had many patients there at once, but I didn't feel that he was rushing or hurrying me along. The office is located in the Medical/Dental building of Oakridge Centre, which is located directly behind the Skytrain station. There was construction happening in the area when I went, but I had no issue finding it - the entrance to the building for those arriving via transit or by foot is located directly beside Crate & Barrel, and there were signs pointing towards it.
Desk staff is very monotone and robotic. Desk staff did not call to book me an appointment on two occasions they told me they would call me, and after waiting weeks, they never did. Nursing staff is mediocre, but not horrible. Blicker rushes you in and out, and will whine if you don't explain your eye problems quickly and the way he wants to hear it. Blicker doesn't like if you try and confirm your understanding of something; he will look at you like you said something crazy, and will try to find some technical reason why your own paraphrasing or understanding was completely wrong. Blicker seems to not enjoy his job at all, and appears uninterested in healthcare or helping others with their eye problems.
Zero stars if I could A very dismissive doctor with little to no knowledge. Absolutely does not care and doesn’t respect his patients.

Very efficient well staffed opthalmologist office at Oakridge Centre professional towers. Free parking. #letsguide
Would give Dr. Blicker 0 stars if I could. No manners at all, which is a review someone else wrote. Receptionist was fine but Dr. Blicker is horrible. They had overbooked so sent me on a walk, when I returned he put drops in my eyes and told me to go for another 25 minute walk. Nobody has time to waste like this, so unorganized. When I finally came back, Dr. Blicker was so rude, did not say hi or anything welcoming, told me he couldn't do anything for me and that I should just call around other eye surgeons to help answer my questions. I walked out, worst doctor's office ever.
Bad experience. Reception was not helpful at all. I asked where are they when I was making the appt. They said oakridge mall. Well oakridge mall is under major construction. No info about parking or which tower it's in. To say Dr Blicker has no bedside manner is an understatement. He put dilating drops in my eyes and said go for a walk, come back in 25min. You cant stay here because of covid. Then it took them 3 days to get back to me on weather I should be taking glaocoma drops after calling each morning.
