Another new restaurant for us. Overall it was a positive experience. The wait staff was great and very attentive. Was pretty disappointed the pretzel appetizer was not available. My wife is not into german food so she got chicken tender meal. They had a good breading on them and were fresh and crispy. The schnitzel was kinda bland but very well cooked. A couple helpings of mushroom gravy helped to offset lack of seasoning. The side salad was better than most restaurants. The sides were good. The fire place was really nice since we sat in front of it.
Food and service were great! Potato pancakes excellent! Wanted the beef roll up, but, they said that dish was unavailable till Nov. I was a bit disappointed, but found something else to order.Food: 4/5
Went to check out this restaurant because of its German cuisine. Have a plan to bring a good friend here who is from Germany to get authentic German food. Can’t wait to go back again, the food was delicious. Ordered schnitzel, German potato salad, and Spoetzl. The German potato salad wasn’t quite up to par, so they were happy to replace it for me with the red cabbage which was out of this world. The service was extremely friendly and I felt like I was sitting in a friends dining room. They chat it with me throughout the whole time since I was the dining room wall. I will be back very soon.
Great atmosphere and the food was really good, too. We enjoyed everything we ate. Service was fantastic. No complaints at all. We'll definitely return if we're ever in the area. Very much worth a visit!
I had the Google assistant reserve a party of 10 for me; everything was great. I enjoyed a fantastic wienerschnitzel with spätzel and chicken gravy, side of german potato salad. Also had the large Bavarian pretzel and was so pleased. Everything was very good prices for the quality and quantity. I can't wait to come back for more! Parking: Enter the grounds via Seaman Rd. Drive up the pathway for the GAF and park where the glockenspiel and performance stages are for the fest. The lot has poor lighting but its obvious where to drive. Wheelchair accessibility: One level and the doors are double wide.
Everything German all in one place! The food was fantastic! Huge portions. After eating the big barvarian pretzel, there was not much room for our entrees. We probably should have shared one Service was friendly and cheerful. The beer was great as they carry a favorite German brand that I like, Weinhenstephaner. This was my first time having the Dunkel, and I loved it. I'm trying to figure out how to go back for my birthday dinner in December. Sadly, this little gem is 2 hours away. I just might have to make the trip. The grounds of the club have multiple pavilions and even a soccer field. I bet Oktoberfest is awesome here. I can't wait to return.
We only recently became aware that this restaurant was there and were very excited to try it. We were not disappointed! The food was excellent and there were many other things on the menu that we are looking forward to coming back and trying. We have family members that are also interested in joining us.Food: 5/5
Great food super service and amazing German atmosphere. Can't wait to go back again!
The food portions are very generous. The service was great and the food was nice and hot. I would definitely be back.
One of the other diners described it perfectly: it's like a secret fishing hole. So good that you don't want to share. And just like that fishing hole it was a little bit of a challenge to find for someone from out of town. Arriving at the grounds you aren't sure if it's a private camp or a German alcove but follow the road all the way to the back and look for the signs. The area is similar to what I'd imagine a rustic village would be in Germany. Simple buildings and interesting decor. The meal was excellent. Probably the best meal Ive had in Toledo. My party was greeted promptly and given the option to sit outside or inside. The inside was fantastically decorated but we chose outside. Basic glass tables, chairs, and umbrellas. Definitely set up for the more heavy drinking crowd. But perfect for the day. A nice breezy warm afternoon with just the right amount of shade from the trees. We ordered drinks and a sausage sampler to split. There were 3 types of sausage. Knockwurst, weisswurst, and one other. All 3 were grilled with just the right amount of char but not enough to ruin the flavor. For our main course I chose the jagerschnitzel, spatzel, and German potato salad. It was all fantastic. The gravy on my schnitzel was a good balance of tart and savory. The schnitzel itself was browned perfectly. For dessert I had the carrot cake. Not too sweet not overly spiced. The icing was that good mixture of cream cheese and sugar so that it balanced the sweetness. My fellow diners had the German chocolate cake but I tried to warm them that German chocolate cake is almost more of a coloring agent than a flavor. They were expecting more like an American chocolate cake that's so sugary you can only take two bites. Overall it was probably the best place I've eaten at in Toledo and will definitely be back any chance I get.
