A relaxed finer dining experience! You can go in casual clothing--even jeans and a nice shirt-- and enjoy excellent food. It's not fussy-- it's tasty. Silk screened birch tree panels provide privacy between tables, and there is a bird observation window to enjoy the best little critters the Hockley forest has to offer. Good wine list. Chef is warm and personable, loves creating enjoyable meals. Saturdays have live instrumental music too-- sometimes with audience participation, which is a nice social touch!

Don't judge a book by its cover!
From the road its quaint and unassuming. Even when you come inside you expect something typical. When you look at the printed menu you still may not be convinced. But as soon as that food arrives bells and whistles start to sing a mouthwatering tune. The beef tenderloin was perfection. Tender. Juicy. Melt in your mouth rather than chew. Mushroom sauce took it to a whole other level. Paired with beautiful vegetables and a crispy risotto cake. We also had the stuffed pork tenderloin and it rivals the beef. Smokey, flavourful and tender.
Don't be scared off by the curb appeal or the quirky decor... it really is worth a visit.

Great little restaurant . Simple decor. Pretty good food. Loved the live jazz . Will go again.

Best fish and chips I've had in a long time. Finally, a place that serves more fish than batter, and at a reasonable price.

Had smoked meat hash with poached eggs and salad. It was very good. I also like the quiet and comfy atmosphere.
