Black Bear Ice Cream

I’m a big,big ice cream fan and was so excited to try Cows when I visited Halifax this summer. I was soooo disappointed. I decided to try Black Bear as well and boy oh boy was it WAAAAAAYYY better! Great flavour. Creamier/richer tasting ice cream. Don’t be fooled by the prices. A ‘single’ is two scoops a lot of places do this. There’s no merch or gimmicks here. JUST GREAT ICE CREAM! Don’t miss it!

Long line but the do push you through fairly quickly. Loads of flavours to choose from. I would say about as pricey as any other “Ice cream shop”. Got the moon mist because you have to when in the east coast! Delicious. Picture is my already well enjoyed single scoop

Ice cream was fantastic. The line up was long because the poor girl working there was alone. She deserves a raise and a bonus!

Best ice cream on the waterfront. Please skip the line at Cows where they have painted over the handmade part of their sign and enjoy a cone here. Shorter line, better flavour, and you can get yourself a waffle cone.

When you see the giant lineup at cows and no one at black bear don’t be misled! Black Bear ice cream is the best ice cream in Halifax. They have a smaller selection than the 30 flavours cows totes, but the ones they have a much better. Affordable delicious ice cream that will keep you coming back for more, I could not recommend Black Bear more! They even have a gf cone!

They are fooling the people. The ice cream that u guys think they make is homemade and natural is actually president choice ice cream which u can get for $4 per box clearance in atlantic superstores I am saying cause one day i was in line and saw what they were doing behind the curtain The prices are a joke considering they are making $50 out of a $4 preisdent choice ice cream box Suhah is miles better than this and cows cause atleast they make their own ice cream and are unique

The icecream is great. But this place is racism at it’s finest i ordered but was served after all the white people who ordered after me. Never thought for icecream as well there is racism. Really disappointed

What a fantastic visit to this ice cream shop. I was given the opportunity to meet the owner. I could tell he was proud of the work he put into this store. He seems to enjoy meeting people, and I left with a highlight to my trip to Halifax. The ice cream was delicious so I strongly encourage giving them your business if you're in the area. Staff is lovely, prices are decent for a waterfront shop, great spot to get a frozen snack, or a delicious beverage!

There are lots of places on the waterfront to buy great local icecream...this is one of them. You won't be disappointed.
