Bj's Family Restaurant

I don’t get to Montana very often, so when I do get there, I look for chicken fried steak for breakfast. The version of Bee Gees didn’t disappoint. The cafe is on the opposite end of the spectrum from chain restaurants.

BJ's is one of what I consider to be the two staple family restaurants in Hamilton. They offer a full bar, breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food here is classic American style with daily specials, traditional favorites like burgers, sandwiches, pizza, and holiday buffets. I personally can't come home without stopping by for a pizza but I love their Ruben as well! A few unique things about the place. The art always changes, all of the pictures on the wall are for sale, with reasonable prices displayed, and change consistently as a result. They have a couple of large spaces where clubs and organizations have been known to host their meetings or people book out for private events. The restaurant couldn't be further from a chain or fast casual, I've experienced it can have good days and some that aren't. Instead the experience you have here is a true product of the Bitterroot in its second generation of the same family ownership, the owners are from the valley, like their parents they went to school here, raised their family here and employ many people with local ties.

Walked in and sat in the back, there were people up front being very loud and obnoxious. Our server kept forgetting stuff for us as well as the only other 2 customers in there. My hash browns tasted stale like they expired in a box. The meat tasted frozen and horrid. The only good thing was the drink. Very unpleasedFood: 1/5

Fast friendly service. Waitress really friendly. Meal came pretty quickly. Waitress checked on us to see if the meal was alright and if we needed anything else.Food: 5/5

The rib steak and eggs were absolutely delicious. The bloody mary was top notch as well.

I absolutely love the chicken fried steak breakfast. I get the poached eggs with it. Great food. Staff has always been friendly. Kid-friendliness: My busy busy grandkids were treated with kindness and crayons.

I love their breakfast! CFS is very good as well as the biscuits & gravy. Good portions, good service and good food. It is a friendly environment and quick service.Food: 5/5

Wow! Had an amazing breakfast! Super fast service, food came fast. Warning! If you get a cinnamon roll, bring a friend. Its huge! And yummy! Very clean inside, great remodeled clean bathrooms. Mysti was very nice and fast with drink refills.

Food was 4 stars but place and atmosphere were 5. We had a very big group and they got us in quickly and efficiently. Thank you!
