Cozy restaurant with very good food and excellent service. Authentic Japanese taste; flavourful while not being overly salty. Sushi quality was good and served at the right temperature. Price was also reasonable for the quality/quantity.Food: 5/5
I am so happy to have discovered this gem, all the 5-stars reviews are with reason! Finally an authentic, Japanese-led Sushi place where you get amazing quality for a very fair price. Yes, it won't win any interior design awards but if you care about authenticity, delicious food, this is the place to be.Food: 5/5
Went into it not expecting much but the staff is really friendly and helpful. I think they came to pour water for us 3-4 times throughout our dinner. We got katsudon and unadon + karaage as appetizers Servings are fine, you won’t get extremely full, which isn’t a bad thing. Prices are fair for this economy. Atmosphere was nice as well. Giving 5 star As usual, go try it yourself to get your own experience/opinion!
They’re finally back!! My favorite little family owned Japanese sushi shop has finally re-opened after a 3 year wait! Always reserve for dinner. The sushi rolls here are huge and packed with so-fresh-it-melts-in-your-mouth fish. Try the scallop - nigiri, maki - it does not disappoint. They no longer have it on the menu, but for the crowd that use to come here and order the shiso-ume roll, you can still ask them to make it.
Finally, real authentic Japanese dishes available in Montreal! Each meal is prepared by the owner; a Japanese trained Chef. His Japanese wife, also owner, ensures everything is done to perfection! Having been to Japan many times, this is the real taste of Japanese food!Food: 5/5
All staff are Japanese and they are so nice ! Japanese classic food that I wanted and was looking for longtime . Their dishes are reminds me Japan and so nostalgic taste ! Highly recommend Sukiyaki was so delicious : We ordered Sushi, Tempura , Nibitashi, Karaage etc.. Everything were so delicious ! It’s really popular place so must not forget about reservation !
The best Japanese restaurant in town. Sushi is super fresh. Shabu shabu is really good. All the dishes r reminded me about Japan. So glad that my most favourite restaurant is back Food: 5/5
Every element in the plate was just perfect. The freshness of the sashimi and nigiri: you can tell the quality of the fish was just top notch. The fluffiness of the tempura: the veggies were crunchy, well seasoned and coated in this very light almost airy batter. The perfect unagi nigiri bite: generous sweet and meaty eel resting in a small bed of rice. Friendly service; although, it did take some time to get the food It was a Saturday reservation and it was full with a couple of bigger size tables. Overall environment was nice and the food was soo good that the time went by fast. Note: Ask for the tea if you enjoy accompanying your meals with a fragrant warm cup of tea.
One of my biggest sadness post pandemic was the closing of the original Furusato ... I did not expect to see it again !! Price went up since Covid, but it's the same for all restaurant. Furusato is exactly like before, calm restaurant, nice service, amazing food I had sushi and Gyoza !!
This is the rebirth of the original Furusato on Bleury, and it's every bit as good. Chef Akira-san brought his magic along, and somehow even the staff and locale capture the same authenticity and pure joy of deceptively simple dishes exquisitely prepared and unpretentiously presented. It's not a place you bring someone you want to impress - unless that someone can recognize the work of a genius chef in his own natural environment.
