This was my first time having a tattoo and I wanted it in traditional Filipino design. I've done my own research and saw that Mayo's background in Filipino tribal tattoos, was the artist that could do that for me. So I visited his studio and shared my background and story about my ancestors to him. He then took this information and came up an amazing freehand design that was unique to my story and my family. So far I've only had 2 sessions with him but the work and amount of detail he puts into his craft is just absolutely stunning. I can't wait for my next session and see my finished sleeve.

I have been looking for someone who can do authentic tribal tattoos. Mayo is trained in all South Pacific tribal art and he has made my dream come true! It has been years since I decided to finally have my Fijian heritage put on my skin, and now it’s perfect.

Mayo did my first tattoos and I had a great experience. I was really nervous knowing that I pass out easily but he did a great job of making me feel comfortable. He has great stories and super easy to talk to but more importantly is an amazing artist. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience and I’ll definitely be going back!

Mayo did a beautiful cover up on my leg. He hand drew a Manta Ray covering a rose. Thank you for the most beautiful piece of art. A very talented artist. Would highly recommend him. Very professional. I cannot say enough things about Mayo and his work. 5 stars and 2 thumbs up.

I had been wanting a traditional Ilocano tattoo for about two years. I sat on it and researched and wasn’t sure where to get one. When the time was right I was lead to Mayo and Birthmark Tattoo. It felt destined. I was so excited after our consultation. Mayo fed me so much history knowledge of our people. It would be the beginning of a journey that feeds my spirit. It may sound dramatic but the impact on me was dramatic. I’m so thankful that we crossed paths Mayo and I wear your work with pride. I love sharing my experience of getting this tattoo and spreading the knowledge you gave me as well.  I’m very grateful for this gift to honour our Ancestors.

Got a tattoo started in Hawaii but was unable to finish it. Did the research to find someone back home to finish and found Mayo. Let me say, he has far surpassed my expectations!! He perfectly blended 2 styles of tattoo I have to make a cohesive sleeve. He was also my first experience of having free hand, and again, surpassed my expectations with perfect crisp lines and incredible detail to everything he did! I am absolutely in love with my finished sleeve now! Thank you Mayo!!

Got my arm sleeve from mayo and he free hand everything on my arm! I told him what I wanted and he blew my expectations away! He free hand everything and thought everything up on the spot! Decided to get my first tattoo whilst in Hawaii and looked up who the best tribal art tattoo artists were back home in Vancouver.  Came across Birthmark and checked them out.  Had a really good first interview with Mayo to go over the significance of the work I wanted done.  He captured everything better than I could have imagined and I could simply not be happier with the finished product.  The studio is clean and professional although understated.  Mayo's artistic abilities, professionalism and skills are at the very top of his field.  I can very confidently recommend him to anyone looking to get a great and meaningful tattoo  and have no doubt that I will be back for more myself!

One of the best artist in town. The thoughts and plans for my first tattoo made extra ordinary with his free handing skills. He merged my all ideas together to make a master piece.
