Birdies Fried Chicken

I had heard amazing things about this chicken sandwich from a spot in the East end called Birdies, that used to also be a truck. I finally had it today and it lived up to its reputation. Chicken was crispy without excess breading, the Nashville hot chicken was delicious. The original was just as good and the fries are like chip truck fries. Loved the friendly staff too, super lovely people! Will definitely be back!

Small location right beside a dollar tree. Went when there was also a taste of South Asia festival. The place looks very modern and the staff were friendly. Ordered a $10 Nashville hot chicken sandwich. The chicken was fairly plump with pickles and their homemade sauce on top. The chicken itself is not spicy 2/10 on the Asian spicy scale and feels more of a numbness to it. The reason why it got 4* is because the outside of the bag was sauced up.

To say this is the best chicken sandwich in all of Toronto is a bold statement but someone has to do it…. THE BEST!! Nashville hot chicken had the perfect level of hotness/spice. You get a huge piece of chicken that has a nice crunch. I can’t wait to return and try other items on the menu

Friendly service and helpful staff. My Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich was a good level of spice. The fries were done to perfection today. Thx. We'll be back! A couple of quick cautions: There is a "dining-in option," but it is at counter seating against the window. There are only 3 seats. Don't come with a big party expecting a table. Parking is also limited. Having said that, I felt I got good value for the price and would recommend trying this place.

All I have to say is WOW WOW!! Man what a cool little fried chicken joint this is. LOVE their Nashville hot chicken pieces. My mouth was on fire but in the best way possible The tossed in pickle slices are quite cool and cooling as well. Their fries are so out of bounds they need no ketchup! trust me on this. Great place for lunch. Their signature "truck sauce" would be my one and only complaint... BIGGER CONTAINER PLEASE!

The reviews and the pictures looked amazing and I love Hot Chicken. It was great indeed, but did not fully meet expectations. I’m thinking I just got a substandard batch. Spice level was amazing.

Bar none, the best Nashville hot chicken sando I've had in the east end. Meat was tender and moist, spice mix was well thought through and flavorful, oil balance was just right not overpowering or dry and you can really tell that quality is the cornerstone of their business ethos. The chicken here tasted great. I had an OG Chicken Sandwich and it was tender without being greasy. The sauce was great. Only dinging 1 star because I wish it came with a bigger bun or if they cut up the chicken and stacked it instead the chicken is significantly bigger and when combined with the sauce, it's a sloppy mess to eat after a couple bites and I wish there was better side options. If your in the area and looking for great food, I recommend this place.

IT'S WORTH IT!!! My eyes are bigger than my stomach, for sure! I just placed my first order at Birdies, but I was skeptical because the delectable buttermilk chicken pieces and OG original sandwich weren't as big as the other photos. I was so wrong because I am so stuffed! The flavour of the sandwich and chicken pieces, Yum, not salty and or greasy! Just the right amount of seasoning, and I experienced a taste of the crispiness from that first crunch to my last bite, including the French fries! The gravy, Oh my... And that sauce... Delicious! Birdies satisfied my craving so much that this is my new joint! Thank you! I will definitely be back! P.S. I am so stuffed!!!

Delicious sandwich.. too bad we couldn't eat indoor... but even taking it home it was good.. The poutine was tasty too..
