I have been to Spa Hauschka several times for facials. This time, it was very noisy. At the beginning of the treatment, it was hard to relax with loud talking and laughing from staff in the reception and corridors. Even though I asked the therapist if it would be possible for less noise, the effort didn't last and it was a big miss in terms of a quiet spa atmosphere. After the facial which was anyway relaxing in itself, back at reception, it was a bit of a shock to be in the middle of loud chatter and laughing as if I was in a loud cafe. The receptionist (the owner's daughter) acted with a sassy attitude and totally oblivious. It didn't feel right to spend and give so much money to people not demonstrating a minimum of respect and gratitude ($480 for facial and some products). I felt treated like a milking cow. If it wasn't for the noise and the "in your face" attitude, I would give it 4 stars only for the therapist Carole. It is always a treat to be in her hands. She is very experienced and caring. The Classic facial is simply great. Not only your face gets pampered with great quality products and touch, your lower legs, arms and upper back are gently massaged and cared for.

Enaam gives the best facials. She is very knowledgeable about which products will help heal your skin and is extremely caring and kind. To a first time customer the price for a facial may seem high but I can assure you it will be the best facial you ever receive and also longer than a regular facial. The benefits will last for weeks afterwards and your skin will be glowing. They use high quality products so no need to worry if you have sensitive skin. The staff has always been incredibly helpful to me as well.

I have been going to this spa for many years. If you have never had a facial there, you do no know what you are missing! It's a taste of paradise. Enaam is amazing, very pleasant, and very knowledgable. With the many techniques that she has mastered, I immediately start to relax, her hands are very healing. Also, you can't get any better than the products that she uses. They are top of the line and free of any and all chemicals! The rest of the staff is amazing as well. The receptionist always greets me with a warm smile and always makes me feel welcome. She is very professional and gives me the best customer service. What else can I say, I just adore this spa!

Very pleased. I made an appointment for the very expensive full facial, since it was my birthday. She threw in a 20 minute massage as well. Nice products. I felt very pampered. Since they added the massage, they gave me a receipt, so i could claim a lot of the expense on my insurance. Very nice!

Where else do you get a facial that includes a foot, arm and shoulder massage? Enaam Takla is a skilled aesthetician. I went in with my thoughts in a whirl. I had tons on my plate and was unable to de-stress. Even my usual meditation and breathing exercises weren't working as well as usual. The hot rose and lavendar bath (I got the "Beauty of Nastasja" treatment which includes a bath) helped, but my mind was still going a mile a minute. Then, after I lay down on the soft massage table, something magical happened. As the aesthetician started rubbing my legs soothingly, I began to drift. The clamour abated and I went into this sort of deep relaxed trance. I don't know how else to describe it. I've never really had anything quite like it--not even after deep tissue massage. I was conscious, but so deeply relaxed it felt a lot like sleep. The "massage" part of things isn't massage in the sense that I've come to understand it: there's no deep pressure (which I usually enjoy)... more a sort of stroking and petting. The way a mother might soothe her child or an animal lover her cat. The facial itself is as far removed from a regular facial as can be imagined. There's no poking, prodding or squeezing. Instead, there's a procession of delicious smelling lotions and potions that are gently applied and then left to soak into your skin under warm compresses. Again, there's a lot of gentle stroking--Ms Takla used both her fingers and silk brushes (this is delicious, hard to imagine if you haven't tried it). Apparently this stimulates lymph drainage. I don't know if that's true or not. All I can tell you is that my skin was plump and softer than soft at the end of it. No redness, no soreness. Just an all-over smoothness. And just to give you a sense of how relaxed I was: towards the end of the session, Ms Takla accidentally dropped a heavy bottle cover on the floor and I didn't flinch. I stayed absolutely calm--aware, but unperturbed. Knowing me, that's impressive. As for the price tag. It's steep. This is a treatment that I would definitely put i in the "luxury" category and allow myself regularly (but occasionally). Perhaps as a once-a-year birthday treat. However, I urge you to go on to the Dr Hauschka website and read up not just about the ingredients they use but the way they acquire them. It makes me proud to know that despite the fact that I just enjoyed 2 hours of bliss, I didn't leave a giant eco footprint. And people less fortunate than I were paid fair wages and helped with various indigenous community projects. I don't "need" a spa treatment. It's a luxury. And I would rather save up and go once a year for a Dr Hauscka treatment than get a cheaper (but potentially toxic, wasteful and socially unjust) one every month.
