Great place to get a ‘home cooked’ meal! DH had a Scoundrel Scramble $18 which was very tasty & generous & I enjoyed an appetizer of Deep Fried Pickles $8. Coffee was very good & service was excellent considering they were very busy and like most places after COVID, under-staffed.
An excellent pit stop for real homemade classic Canadian / North American fare. Nice welcoming vibes and large place. Prices are reasonable too. Especially impressed by their homemade soups. The scoop: Chicken Soup: delicious, it had real homestead "dumplings" in it too which were like lumps of cooked flour shaped together which were tasty Turkey Club sandwich: fresh bread and layered with toppings like bacon, tomato, and lettuce. Side salad was fresh too, no complaints. Cheeseburger: patty was a bit dry and overcooked but otherwise the bun and topppings were good. Overall, it's kinda like a Denny's, but a bit better because they offer real food options made from scratch and serve unique things other restaurants don't like chicken dumpling soup.
Helpful fast service...tasteful food... reasonable prices... great location.....Food: 5/5
Gave the food a four star as we couldn't honestly rate it since we only got a quick snack due to thinking it was an all-day kinda lunch/dinner place, so that's on us. The service was sadly lacking. I think it's definitely a place where unless you're local, you're gonna be looked over. We weren't checked in on or had our drinks refilled. The customers were much more welcoming than the service. I had high hopes for the place, given the reviews and menu. Might try again sometime in the evening with maybe a younger or more lively staff, but the experience left us starving and seeking alternatives.
It was good enough restaurant for family. Maybe because of the season, it was very quiet. Very friendly server. Big portion foods. Kids friendly placethey gave our daughter coloring with lots of color’s pen!. A bit dirty inside but cozy place to eat.
Very nice place to have breakfast and lunch. Very friendly and very kind that they let me stay for a few hours while I was waiting. So thank you very much!
This is concerning, ordered the Ribeye Steak dinner, the steak was rotten, what made it worse was hearing the server yell in the kitchen “ANOTHER ROTTEN STEAK AGAIN.” The kitchen cannot figure out basic food sanitation. We will never go back.
We had a great dinner last night! But, we were also pleasantly surprised to be asked for our vaccination passport. First time! This business cares about it's staff and customers. Thank you!
The food was good and served hot but that’s the end of the good news story. The service was very slow and not very attentive. It took a few minutes to get seated which was understandable because there were only two servers on a Saturday morning who were responsible for cash, cleaning tables, taking orders, and serving. It took another 5 minutes or so to get our order taken and another 20 minutes for the food to be delivered. That is probably the fault of the kitchen. After the food was delivered we never saw our server again. Getting coffee refills was a chore. Asked for water twice; it never came. Other tables got their orders before us even though we ordered first. Again a sign of a disorganized kitchen. We got the feeling that the locals got more attention and better service. My recommendation is try somewhere else for breakfast/brunch.
Service was slow. People who came in after us were seated before us. We had to seat ourselves, grab our own menu's. Was not a good first impression. The food was good home cooking. Kid-friendliness: Kid menu Parking: Small parking lot
