Through the repetition of beautiful and resonant tone, relaxed physical grounding, quality repertoire, attention to text, and the encouragement of risk-taking in performance, each singer or speaker will find their authentic voice and gain the ability to communicate their unique vision with their Big Voice.
Elaine Overholt has established herself as one of North America’s most respected and treasured singers, voice teachers and vocal producers, with an ability to coax magical performances from every type of singer. Her passionate ambition to understand the human voice and pass that knowledge on has inspired the creation of The Big Voice DVD and Warm-Up and Workout CD that has gained international popularity.
Having performed as a soloist on world stages, major network television, albums, films, jingles, Elaine has also appeared with Ray Charles, Tina Turner, and Dionne Warwick on national television and has recorded two albums with a No. 3 single on Billboard. Her coaching of Ellen DeGeneres on “The Ellen Show” has become a YouTube phenomenon. She has coached Hollywood stars John Travolta, Michelle Pfeiffer and zac efron for “Hairspray” the movie, along with Richard Gere, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Renée Zellweger and Queen Latifah for the Oscar-winning “Chicago”.
Elaine Overholt was also a judge alongside Andrew Lloyd Webber on the hit tv-show “How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?” (CBC).
Elaine is also the host of a compelling new TV series entitled BIG VOICE that has been aired on The Oprah Winfrey Network in Canada (OWN). The show inspirationally connects Elaine to a group of diverse women ready to discover the true potential of their vocal abilities. Each episode culminates in a spectacular finale where they live their dream on stage.
