Big Bang roll was very good Gyoza was okay. Meat is good skin is alright. Mango paradise roll is good, but I wish there was more mango taste. Sunshine roll did not stick together. It kept on falling apart. Overall very yummy though.
We are so blessed to have good sushi all around Vancouver. However, this joint is by far a cut above the rest and some of the best sushi I have had in a long time for sure! The freshness, quality, consistency and flavor of everything we had was rad and super yummy. The perfect balance of chewy, crunchy and aromatic tasting. The level of detail was awesome in the fact that they even lightly brushed the sashimi with fresh lemon wedge which is a new experience for me. Combo'd with the sweet value for money makes this one of my best experiences and I'm totally stoked to return! Rolls are super fat, stuffed with wholesome fresh ingredients and crazy delicious, Takoyaki and Edamame was perfectly seasoned and not too much overkill. I have to give a special shout out to the staff who are super nice awesome people and made the dining experience incredible. Extremely talented and professional food and service with efficiency. A quaint, cozy and comfortable laid back vibe in a well decorated and authentic eatery. I love this sushi joint and found myself a new local eh! Support local business!
The sushi was awesome and reasonably priced. The owner was super cool. Our daughters said it was their new favorite sushi spot. Too bad it’s not closer to home or we’d be there every week or two. The owner even let our girls feed the koi fish. We will definitely go back next time we are in town.
Big Bang Sushi in Denman street, downtown Vancouver makes reasonably-priced, top class Japanese food. Their spider sushi roll was delicious, with crisp pieces of umami-rich crabs. We also ordered their takoyaki octopus balls had a bit of crisp on the outside and delectably creamy and savoury on the inside with a tasty piece of deliciously chewy octopus. Their chicken katsu was crispy and well-received too. Overall, I would say the spider roll sushi was the highlight our meal – their sushi is top-notch!
Really good sushi place on Denman: as soon as you're seated, they will bring you piping hot tea which is so comforting when coming back from a long walk in cold and rainy Stanley Park. The tempura was crispy, the sushi and onigiri were fresh and the rice had the perfect texture. The pricea were super reasonable too. I would definitely recommend!
Friendly staff and good service but unfortunately the sushi was disappointing. The quality of rolls and nigiri was below average and the tuna for our sashimi was still frozen?!? The pieces were blunt and we left without feeling like we had a sushi experience.
Been there 3 times and it's a nice and welcoming sushi place I like that they have pictures in menu and in reality, it looks even better Great price for such a fancy and delicious and they serve complimentary tea. sashimi bowl is big and just for 12$!
Came here in a Sunday for a late lunch. Good service. Ordered the Lunch 7 California roll, tempura, rice, veggies, Hawaiian roll, spicy crunch roll, cherry blossom, dinosaur roll, and some miso soup. All were decent. Wife enjoyed the dinosaur roll the most then Hawaiian while I preferred the spicy crunch roll. Prices were reasonable for the portions given. Would come back and if you like sushi, then it is worth a try.
Only come if you want some westernized Japanese food. 9.5 for the rolls, good texture for the rice, great combination of sauce and ingredients. The dons are also pretty good. Note: don't order the Unagi Don, the sause is too sweet and they put too much irrelevant things: ginger, beets etc. Price is more than reasonable, so 15/10 on this
I went here once before and it was pretty tasty, so I decided to come back last night. Unfortunately, this time it was a very bad experience. The rice tasted old, hard and stale and the fish pieces on the sushi were barely there. The tiny pieces of fish that were on tye sushi were tough and stringy. The service was not much better. The waitress brought out the wrong tempura and later she kept giving our table of 2 looks to hurry up as it was already 5m after 9 and the place closed at 9, although otherwise she was not very attentive. When the debit machine was handed to me by the waitress it already had 18% gratitude added to my bill. Overall it was very disappointing and I won't be back
