Bibliothèque et Maison de la culture du Plateau Mont-Royal

I walked there few days ago to find some books. The staff is nice and helpful. Besides, I found a litte gallery of arts. It is such an iteresting place to explore. On the other hands, I saw a small community of old people knitting together, sounds fun! If I have time, I would like to join them! I had a beautiful afternoon with Bibliothèque du Plateau-Mont-Royal!!! Wanna come back soon!!!

It's a nice library!! Lots of resources, and transfers usually arrive very quickly through the Montreal library system. However, it's weird how they put some books on their side so you have to pick them up to see the title - I guess some of the shelves are too short? Regardless, I love the Montreal public library :

It's cramped and arranged like a maze and often feels hectic and stressful and claustrophobic. The desk staff have been quite wonderful but some of the other staff have been quite weird and rude. Mordechai-Richler is a much better library atmosphere.

Not to bash this library, but it is pretty bad compared to the other ones in Montreal. It's super demotivating. The whole vibe kills any motivation, a lot of the people are a bit sketch, the only good part is reserved for kids, there's not outside light, it's also super small although it looks big from the outside.

Small community library. Excellent location just across Mont royal metro station. The library has a special section for kids. Great place to be aware of community events from posters in the corridor. A very tiny space to use the community computers with limited reserved times. OK to briefly read news of the day. A large exhibition studio room in the back with annex to a public music theatre hall. Aware of planned free activities. Staff helpful depending who you question and who is available. Positive reward of my very short presence when in the vicinity. Thanks for the favors!

It's a very good library

Beautiful on the outside, an architectural disaster on the inside. Once you walk indoors it loses all of it's exterior charm and becomes a generic, soulless library, pale violet walls and all. Few tables for study but it's a small library overall. I feel like something truly special could have been done with the space, so it's quite the disappointment when finally walking through it's doors.

Too noisy and most of it is coming from the staff working there. .. Strange paradox
