I’ve been to this store more than 5 times in the past 2 months, I’ve looked at almost every store in Calgary but nothing beats what they have, from styles to prices to fittings. I’m absolutely grateful for everyone that works there, the tailors do an amazing amazing amazing job. They don’t take too long and it’s as if they read your mind. Very welcoming staff. Absolutely love this place.
Wonderful store packed to the brim with fancy outfits, accessories, trims, and fabric. Pricing is very competitive relative to the northern NE pocket of stores, selection variety is moderate but tasteful. Assistance is easy to find and the staff are not at all condescending which can sometimes be a problem with some vendors if you know what I'm saying. It's busy all the time including on weekdays. They really excel at all those extras that go into sarees--petticoats, trims, linings. I sew a lot and at $2-3/yd, their price on lining is the best in the city and they've always been able to provide a near perfect color match for whatever I bring them. As a fabric consumer I will say that their fabric weights and prints are really geared towards the eastern community and while beautiful, you'll find more sequins, chiffons, and brocades here. They are excellent for designing fancy indian outfits, not so much for western. Pricing per yard on fabric is very good, though keep in mind a yard is less than a meter. They do carry pant material like glen check which can be hard to find at a good price elsewhere in the city. They have a small but really excellent selection of trims.nI do wish that their selection of more casual clothing on the floor was a little better stocked but I understand that they have limited floor space and that it gets shopped through often.
I was searching for 3 outfits to wear at my upcoming friend’s Indian wedding. As someone who is non-Indian and completely unfamiliar with the culture and what outfits are appropriate to wear to a sangeet, wedding ceremony in a temple, and a wedding reception, Poonam at this store was incredibly patient and kind and friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this store because the fabrics are abundant, so so beautiful and very reasonably priced. I got a discount and was able to find 3 outfits for about $100 each and the alterations they offered also were very thorough and only $25 per top which I find is quite reasonable. Highly recommend this store!!
