Great food and atmosphere! The lighting is moody and due to the open kitchen there is a very ASMR feeling to the restaurant as you can hear sizzling. My partner did not like the tacos as much as my burger. I think the tortilla was just a bit dry, but had otherwise good taste. Over all my partner and I said we would come back for dessert sometime or to have the fries as a snack!
Had dinner here! We got the cod bites, steak + frites, and falafel salad with Arctic char. Unfortunately they were out of bread. Portion sizes were a little small for the price, especially for the cod bites and steak. The steak also did not have sauce with it, like the menu said it should. The falafel salad was pretty good and unique, definitely worth it to add the fish or else it will feel a little lacking otherwise. The atmosphere was nice and cozy, though the tables did feel a little close together and cramped. Our server was amazing and super friendly, despite it being his second day on the job!
Really delicious burger! Goat cheese and beets also delicious. Waitress very sweet and attentive. Value for money good. Atmosphere nice but the window area could use some deep cleaning to get rid of dust and cobwebs.
Really good food and good service. Came in on a Saturday night expecting it to be very busy but it was not. Had a lovely atmosphere. Not able to give 5 stars because when we came in they had a list of things that were not available when the menu is already very small. Despite that, I would still recommend visiting as the food was very good and good portion sizes. Maybe if you have something specific in mind call ahead to make sure they have it.
Food was very good, great value, no frills and to the point. We came here for brunch and I loved my French toast. Also had a $5 mimosa special. Service was also super friendly and attentive, would recommend!
Greeted by friendly server and seated promptly. The food was served in a timely manner and both were tasty and fresh. We enjoyed the wild mushroom on toast and the chicken sandwich. Delicious yet the fries were overly salted. Not good is the cleanliness of the washroom. It was not a busy enough day to have the washrooms in need of thorough cleaning.
Just packed with people on a Friday night eating fish and chips. We had fish tacos. Fish was cod, lists of spice could barely taste the cod or the garnish. Still nice to get fish. Larger pieces less spice mixture and more garnish would have been better. Very good anyway. Worth another try.Food: 4/5
Great portions and flavourful food! I wish there were a couple more vegetarian options, but overall they have a pretty unique menu and I love the atmosphere of the restaurant with the open kitchen. For appetizers, I would recommend the buttermilk fried cauliflower and for a main I would say the chicken sandwich with loaded fries is a MUST.
We have been regular customers for years, but, unfortunately, the quality of served food has continued to decrease over the last 2 years. These days is hard to find consistency at Betula; some days are "luckier" than others, but overall, this restaurant is not what is used to be. The high prices are not justified anymore, and the dining experience is many times less than satisfactory. Burgers are uncooked, too wet, falling apart we don't want not a sloppy Joe!, and the schnitzels are dry, greasy, thin and overcooked... Too bad... We will most likely not visit Betula anymore.
Had friends visit from out of town and we decided to dine here vs one of the town's more popular mainstays. Booked 730pm dinner on a Saturday and was not notified at the time this was a late seating. Kitchen closed at 8pm. Restaurant at 9pm. Felt rushed the whole time. At 8pm it was 'too late' to order dessert despite mentioning we wanted it when we came in. The food we had was decent. Doubt we'll be back though based on overall experience.
