Amazing programs all year round! They provide one of the only Kosher Food Bank's in Toronto. Staff and volunteers are always so helpful. Just an all around wonderful shul.

There is a great Out of The Cold program here once a week during the winter. It helps feed the need with a warm meal, its completely supported by volunteers. If you want to volunteer you should probably sign up early cause the spots get filled up quickly.

After finding no kids program at the nearby Beth Torah Congregation, my wife I decided to try this shul today (late January 2016). We had tried visiting here once before, but on that visit the kids program would not allow my wife to attend with my 12 month old son. The only option was to drop your child off with a complete stranger (as far as we could see, a single adult watching more than 10 very young children) and hope for the best. Of course we refused to do that. My son would have been hysterical at his age. There were no other options for my wife and son, so we left the shul feeling very frustrated. We decided to give the shul a try again today (a year and a half later), but we faced the same dilemma as on our first visit - drop off your child and hope for the best. Once again, we left feeling frustrated. In desperation, we went to the Orthodox Village Shul down the road which had children's program and was very family friendly (more children than I have seen at any Conservative Shul). Both of these Conservative synagogues in the Allan Rd area (Beth Torah and Beth Shalom) claim on their websites to be family friendly and paint a rather rosy picture, but we found that the reality on the ground is very different.
