BIG store, prime location... my issue was with the staff member trying to assist me. I saw him and a co-worker helping the same customer, when I approached he was quick to notice me okay great start. I had some questions about pricing of a product, which I knew the answer to though wanted to see what they would reply. I was given wrong information and politely pointed it out, I asked a few more questions about security cameras and he tried to give a confident answer... again it was wrong. He was starting to sweat and clearly was trying to get away, I asked he be one last question. I couldn't deal with the misinformation, there is nothing wrong with saying 'I don't know'. To think how many people he talks to on a daily base and people buy that product is just wrong. Best Buy, please let your staff be trained to a higher standard.
This location is pretty big. So big that it doesn't seem busy and the line ups move relatively quickly. If your looking for a graphic card drop be prepared to wait in a line up that wraps all the way around to Bay St. The stores don't release the info till a day or two ahead. If you check the blog out they'll release the exact date their dropping more. Here's a tip if your looking for any kind of gaming system, or graphics card. They keep them under lock and key, So, don't ask someone in the gaming or computer section it's a waste of time. Just head straight the the Customer Service or Cashier section. Ask them if they have anything you're looking for in stock. Then they have someone check the room where all the items are caged. Only when they've confirmed its in stock will they allow the purchase. They kinda give one another a nod, and signify if you can make the purchase. Then the security guard standing there decide if hes seen you there before. I've had cashiers tell me there's nothing in stock and then they have a manager check in the room to see if there actually is one. They get can get shipments from head office just about any day of the week. From my knowledge I don't think they allow their employees to purchase anything until after their shift is over. If your trying to find a system online you have to select the nearest store in your area and in the morning is when they update their available stock. I've never personally had any luck with online purchases of gaming systems and graphics s cards, but that's how they tell me it's done.
I like to think of the Dundas St W Best Buy staff as rare, wish-granting mythological creatures. If you manage to track them down and capture them, they'll answer all your questions and be very helpful. However, I usually just end up wandering around aimlessly and leaving empty-handed. Maybe they should just offer maps at the door so you can find whatever niche shelf your item is stored on without employee assistance?
The manager at the cash needs to be replaced. She doesn't know how to staff people. She puts 4 employees on returns when theres only 1 customer in the return line. They're literally just standing there waiting doing nothing. Meanwhile there's only 1 employee working the purchase line with 10 customers waiting in that line. Not a 1-time thing. Same idea every time I've been there. To add insult to injury, in the past shes also interrupted a purchase right as i was about to tap my card...all the items ringed up and ready to go. She couldnt wait the 30 seconds...just walked over in no rush, disregarded me the customer completely, came in cancelled the transaction so she could look up a product on the computer and the guy had to ring me up all over again, scanning all these products over again entering in all these codes manually..wasted 5 minutes of my time so she could avoid waiting 30 seconds. Shes terrible. Otherwise big store lots of products. Gets pretty busy and very hard to find someone on the floor to answer questions. If you don't have lots of time to waste, skip visiting this location.
The death of retail. Attended the store today and found an item. The salesman who were in the area were asked about the size one said no they don't have it. The other pointed it out and said that's actually it. I said wow that's bigger in the box than I thought guys. You would think they would say do you need help with it....Nope they properly left the area quick as they could. I am a strapping lad so I said I will carry it myself. I took it to the front cash. Said to the cashier as I set it on the cart beside the counter because it was too small. the very cart the other two guys could have grabbed to help. I said to the gentleman at the cash "before I buy this I have some other shopping to do can I pay and store it in customer service and return. He replied "no we don't do that". Not hold on I will check with a manager to see if we can perhaps provide a courtesy. Just a no we don't do that. So I said "do you have a bag or some straps you might sell to make it easier to carry he flatly replied "no". He said "there is handles on the box". I actually did miss those so good job. Began to carry it out of the store and both handles in the box ripped. The consequence of this poor customer experience meant Sport Check did also not get my money because you cant carry every thing at once. I got home called customer service Anthony. I told him can I return the item on Christmas Eve. He assured me yes it could be done. It will be going back tomorrow morning for a refund. Best Buy why would I want poor customer service aggravation and a broken box when I can get it on Amazon and have it delivered. If you wonder why retail chains are going under then perhaps look at the in store climate. I wish you well in your business but out last transaction will be my money returned.
Great collection and lovely customer service. I was assisted by Souradip and Farboud for buying my HP laptop. They were very kind and welcoming. They showed and explained me the varieties of laptops and their advantages and helped me to choose a better option for me.
It's very sad to see this store full of 1 kind of people as if I went to Indian Best-buy. Don’t get me wrong I am not racist. but since I am in English language speaker country I expect to be served in English when we walk to a market area which is open to public. I went to this store to buy a tablet for my disable daughter, and I was asking this clerk to help me find that specific tablet that I already checked on their website that they have. But the description were not clear and I needed someone to help me and this employee doesn’t speak clear English and to my surprise he is more concerned about my daughter look and than find me the product he was asking me about what’s wrong with my daughter as I mentioned she is disable and I was very uncomfortable to answer the question and told him to focus on helping me find what I am looking for and he was looking his cellphone I believe he is checking the product in their system but took him way longer time and when his colleague pass by he will talk to them in Indian language and they will look at my daughter and walk by and after about 45 min I went to the register area and I ask for the manager which again all the casher behind the counter are Indian as well with little English. And they did not want to call the manager they keep giving me excuses like he is not here, we will call him,… and the person who I spoke to will go to her colleague and that other casher will come and ask me what I need when I clearly told them I need the store number and the phone number to address my issue and once they saw that I was serious, finally, the manager came and gave me the store number. I can’t lie the manager is way better than the other Indian whom I have encounter with in that store but he need to do better job by teaching his employee about customer service and teach them to learn about their product.
We visited best buy store today and a guy named DAMAN totally misguided me and my friends..he mentioned that Office Pro is free if we have a best buy membership and then when we went for cashing it, he changed his stance saying just the installation was free...wasted my 2 hours discussing with him! Don't consult him for any advise, you will only waste your time!
I was here to fix my laptop. Arsalan is very friendly and professional. The 4-year repair service saved me a lot of money:
So I had a bad experience at another store and walked in to buy a TV and met Royk and for a young man he did an excellent job along with the Sony rep to answer our questions in respect to the difference between models and the sale prices. In short order we go the TV we were shopping for and just very happy to meet Royk so feel free to check him out very courteous and patient even if his boss taught he was severing us. thanks for the excellent job Royk. you deserver 10stars
