Bottom line - top notch quality ingredients, fresh as can be, filling and toppings are plentiful and you don’t feel ripped off.nnThis place reminds me of years back with Dunking Donuts used to be really good and made their donuts by hand. I knew many of the franchises and would go in the back and watch them make their donuts and this is what BB is doing here only on a smaller and less commercial scale and even better quality output.nnPricing is higher than a typical donut - but, these are not typical donuts. They do compare to other hand made donut stores in and around Montreal, only their products are far better.nnInside it’s like going to most cool places in the like end - great area, great architecture, old buildings with tastefully renovated stores. This place is almost a throw back to the way donuts must have been done years ago - minus some of the tech.nnIs no nonsense - you go in, one of the knowledgeable and friend staff will serve you and voila - your ready to go.nA real bonus - when we bought six donuts we received. 7th for free. What a lovely treat.nHonestly can’t say which is better as they are actually all perfectly well made donuts. It would really come down to taste preferences. For myself I can say that the Chocolate topped Boston was excellent as were the maple dipped, honey dipped, powdered strawberry lemon filled, the Kit Kat topped, and even the Simpsons was pretty good but I think my daughter liked this one the most.
Bernie Beigne: A Sweet Spot in Montreal!n•nIf you’re a fan of donuts and find yourself in Outremont / Montreal, Bernie Beigne is a must-visit. This cozy little hole-in-the-wall serves up an incredible selection of donuts that are as flavorful as they are unique. From the classic to the inventive, each donut is crafted with care and bursts with flavor in every bite.n•nThe highlight? The massive apple fritter. It’s not just the biggest apple fritter I’ve ever seen, but also one of the best. Crisp on the outside, soft and perfectly spiced on the inside, it’s an experience all on its own.n•nAdding to the charm is the friendly service that makes you feel right at home. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Bernie Beigne is well worth the stop for a sweet treat.
First time here, but not last. I tried the KitKat donut, and I loved it. My daughter had the double chocolate, and I don't think she came up for air while eating it. The donuts are big and they are so fresh. I have to come back and try one of each.
Great donuts and service from the young man behind the counter yesterday.nnI tried the glazed donut and the sugar donut and both hit the spot. I had the sugar donut this morning for breakfast and it held up well over night.nnI would come back again and try a few of the other donuts they had in the display case.
I think these are the best donuts in Montreal. We tried quite a few places, but this one is really good. The dough, flavor, and aftertaste are great, and we don’t taste the old oil. We love the Boston cream, maple bacon donut, original glazed donut, Kit Kat, raspberry, and Nutella. It’s super messy when you eat the Nutella, but it’s worth it. We will definitely come back for more.
