Bentwood Tavern

This was a great place to catch lunch while passing through New Buffalo. The view of the channel was nice. We sat on the porch as it was beautiful outside. The food was a little overpriced but it wasn’t extreme. The Caesar salad was excellent as was the chicken sandwich. The drinks were okay - you can probably skip those. Service was friendly and attentive. I wish the porch was a little bigger. It wasn’t very intimate. That said, it wasn’t loud and it didn’t detract too much from our experience. We would absolutely go back.

Food, drinks, atmosphere all were great. We were first timers here and sure glad we found it. Our server, Ruby did a great job. She is friendly and nice. We were there celebrating wife's birthday. Ruby and our bartender hooked us up with a complimentary carajillo drink for the occasion. I ordered the steak pot pie. It was so tasty and plenty enough to fill me up. Can't remember what my wife ordered but neither one of us had room for a birthday dessert. Would definitely go there again.

What a find! We were on a long car trip and decided to stop for a nice meal. Found this place on Google and gave it a shot. We could not have done better.nnA simply beautiful restaurant with views of the marina. We were greeted promptly, taken to our table, and our server arrived right away. The chairs at the table were quite comfortable and we settled in for a relaxing meal.nnWe started with the deviled eggs. They were exceptional with the caviar on top, a great addition.nnThe steak pot pie can come with mashed potatoes on top. I got it without. There is gravy on the side. I poured the gravy over the pie. The gravy elevated the pie to the perfect place.nnThe Backbar Burger was prepared perfectly. It was so juicy the we were offered paper napkins to better manage eating it.nnFor dessert, a personal apple pie and bread pudding with ice cream topped off an amazing meal.nnWe highly recommend this restaurant. It was a very pleasurable experience.

Everything about this restaurant is UPSCALE. The food was great, the atmosphere… charming, cozy, and romantic. The Service? FANTASTIC. Our server Chandler went above and beyond to make sure everything about our experience was perfect. The other servers were also very friendly and the overall morale in the restaurant between the staff was noticeably pleasant. We started with some drinks I had a delicious cocktail called the Hare’s Heart it was well balanced and unique. We had the deviled eggs and chicken thighs to start highly recommend them both. For dinner I had the Manistee River Rainbow Trout and my mom had the chicken pot pie. Both were delicious! For dessert we had a bread pudding which was incredible.

Amazing experience overall. I’m a very picker eater when it comes to burgers and I’d say this is the BEST burger I’ve had. The buns are toasted and give a crispy crunchy texture. Meat is cooked perfectly at medium and the sauce pairs nicely with it. Fries are so fresh and you can tell it’s made in house. My friends ordered the tacos and they also look amazing. Such beautiful view by the lake side. You can see the boats and jet skis sitting outside. So pretty and very friendly service. Nice vibe. Nice restroom with good quality napkins. That’s how I tell a restaurant or hotel actually cares about the quality they deliver. 10/10!!
