Story

Bentley's Cafe is an historic soda fountain and ice cream parlor and has remained a favorite eatery for local residents. It is featured in the Historic St. Ignace Walking Tour booklet, Section 20.
The building once sat on the Bay side of the street but was pulled to its present location over logs with a team of horses. The cafe was once a large source of employment in the area and was open 24 hours a day, all year.
During construction of the Mackinac Bridge, the upstairs of the cafe was converted into a boarding house for steel workers.

While traveling from out of town, this spot was such a cute and worthwhile stop! Conveniently located in town next to plenty of shops and a scenic view of the lake, this historic eatery was a great find. We had the bison burger & very much enjoyed our time! Modest prices and delicious food served by friendly folks!

Great food and a great price. We had the pot roast dinner, grilled ham and cheese, and a cup of cream of chicken soup. I would recommend stopping by if in the area.

Very friendly environment.  The breakfast sandwiches were amazing! The lady running the store even made small pancakes for my little sister to take to-go. Loved this place and can't wait to go back!

No frills no thrills eat and go place.  Super friendly staff.  Food is good.

Small quaint breakfast diner. Not many tables but it moved quick. From what we last heard a lot of places closed down. Be patient with the staff. Working their butt off. Food was excellent. Got the 2 eggs and homeade white toast with sausage and potatoes.

We went there for Tuesday lunch. It is one of the only family restaurants open in St. Ignace. The waitress was wearing a mask, but it did not cover her nose. The food is good. We like to have a meal there when we are in the St. Ignace area.
