My experience here probably would have probably been different if I chose to go with them to continue my pregnancy but that was not the case. I was in need of an abortion and was hoping they would help. It was during the holiday break and none of the centres were open, but this centre had a text line to reach out for information. Firstly, they were very spotty with communication. Someone would reply back after a day of my reaching out to them and when I replied, it took them a few days to get back to me. Secondly, I was informed from the first message from them that they didn’t perform the abortions but they could make me an appointment to discuss. I said yes I would like an appointment, and I asked if they didn’t perform the abortions, who did? Well they told me in response that I need to speak with my family doctor. I don’t know what their agenda is, but I’m going back home to Oshawa where I CAN get it done without any bias from the professionals.
I found out I was pregnant with both my babies here. Everyone was supportive, caring, loving and informative. They were quick to offer me resources and let me know they are there for me if I needed their support. I would highly recommend them to anyone that needs assistance throughout their pregnancy.
My experience with the center begins around 11 years ago when I had my first baby. I was alone, scared and unsure i could be a parent. The women there nurtured me, cried with me and helped me come to my own conclusion. Over the years, even when my baby was no longer a baby they were there for me as a mom. When I tried to get pregnant again and had infertility issues, they were there for me. When I got pregnant they celebrated with me. Now I have another beautiful baby and they are always there. They love each and every individual that walks through the door. I am thankful every day for the pregnancy and family care center.
Terrible experience. This location did nothing to support me or my reproductive needs.
