Bonita is amazing. Like a storybook, full of anecdotes and tales of her travels and adventures. A little pricey but I still love checking out the interesting products she has and I respect her as a neighbour living in our east village community. Good work Bonita !
Don't bother- she didn't give me my change back and I stood waiting for her to do it for a bit. She was very rude to me, and treated me with no respect at all. Her stuff is reasonably priced, but only if you're willing to barter for money she owes you. The shop is pretty though.
The shop is quite cluttered, but I think that's what makes it stand out from the rest. The owner knows where everything is and it's impressive how quickly she can retrieve items many items are hanging from the ceiling. I bought sage mixed with juniper. It does not burn well. I thought maybe it was me or my energy, but my friend had a similar issue. The nag champa I bought which is the brand of the store is amazing. The amount you get is worth it for the price almost double the amount from other nag champa incense. I recommend buying the incense. It is sweeter than traditional nag champa and not too overpowering.
I wanted to look at some things for my new place and I was hoping this store might sell wall hangings or maybe some ornaments so I went for a browse. I was about 1.10pm and there was a lady hanging some products outside the store. As I went to walk in the Woman stopped me and asked if she could help with anything. I asked if the store was open as I could sense she didn't want me to walk in. She said it is if I wanted a specific item but not if I wanted to just browse. I said I wanted to have a look around and then she quite rudly said no. I found her tone to be very rude and as a whole she was very off and dismissive. I'm not sure if it was my appearance, my age, my accent or something else but I was left feeling quite upset by my encounter with this lady. I have never been into this store but I have walked past several times and seen what looks like people 'browsing'. I've also spent many years in customer service and even if they have a bizarre 'no browsing' rule then I think they was she enforced this was extremely and unnecessarily rude. I try to support small buissness and avoid corporate giants like Amazon but if this is how I'm treated it doesn't leave me with much choice. What a real shame.
lol I have never in my life been told I had to buy something before I even stepped foot through the front door to look at the available products. Such a rude woman. Based on the reviews I don't know how she even pays rent - since lots of other people have the same experience.
Years ago they had great items and I liked going there. Last time my friend and I opened the unlocked door to go inside, and a lady demanded we pay her $5 each if we want to just browse. So we left and don’t go back
Got a hoodie during summer because I loved the colors, started using it only a month ago for winter in banff, only washed it one time with cold wather as I was told to do, the whole thing is coming undone terrible sawing and it shrank a lot. Really sad about the money loss and the hoodie is useless now. 80 cad to the bin.
VERY POOR!! For better or worst, now at least I know that I and my friend are not alone upon this first visit. The "greet", if you will, we got when we stepped in was, "i'm not opened for browsing, what are you looking for!", someone yelled from nowhere. A few minutes later, before we got to finish looking at what I told her I was seeking, and was prepared to inquire about a purchase on some jewelry, the same lady shouted seemingly only to us, "WE ARE CLOSING! WE ARE CLOSING!"
Great clothes and lots of character : Alterations are included in the price if anything doesn't fit perfectly. Would definitely recommend.
I found this place to be a gem. Products were well priced and the lady was helpful. I wouldnt hesitate to go back!
