This museum is free and has plenty of information about Beaver Island and its rich shipping history. Doug, a member of the B.I. Historic Society, was volunteering there the day I visited. His wealth of knowledge truly made my visit a great experience. The best part is the life boat from the SS Carl D. Bradley, one of the greatest shipwrecks in our state's history. If you have children ask about the scavenger hunt as well.

This museum is small but has a lot to offer whether your interest is maritime, fishing or historic tools. To read all the info could take quite a while or a couple visits.
