This is the worst sushi I've ever had. The rice was old and stale - glued together. Maybe I'm spoiled from living downtown Toronto for years, but this is not the quality of sushi I'm used to. I'm confused by the positive reviews - maybe I got a bad batch? This is what the spicy salmon tempura looks like. Managed to eat 4 pieces. Never seen anything like it. Gross "tempura" coated all over it.
My kids favourite place to get sushi in Welland. Nice staff. Pricey, as is most sushi/sashimi.
Their sushi is no good. Rice was hard and avocado in the sushi roll was dark brown, it doesn't taste fresh at all. Even salmon was definitely not the greatest quality. Very little sashimi on loads of rice, just taste the hard rice. They tried to make it look like it's a big portion, but it's mostly rice. Unless you don't mind a corner store sushi, I guess you can waste your money. I'd rather eat at the food court few steps away.
I used to live in Toronto and was spoiled with such great sushi, sometimes at the cheapest of places. Bear is the only thing that comes close in the Niagara Region, it is very reasonably priced and they have generous 50% off deals and delicious. I’m not sure what the bad reviewers are talking about... and the customer service is the best of all sushi places I’ve been to anywhere. Avocado smoothie another must try. I never write reviews but had to for this place!!
Way too much rice. Like… these rolls have no flavour because there is just so much rice. Cheap as hell
First time trying Bear sushi and it was yummy. Ordered through phone and when I got there, the guy told me he waited for me to add fresh crunchy onions on my sushi. Going to order again.
Great for a quick bite on the go. I stopped in on my way home to grab a quick sushi fix. Try the Shaggy Dog, it was delicious. They prepare the sushi there, and have a few rolls prepared in a cooler if you are looking for a quick grab. Similar to the kiosks in Niagara On The Lake's Outlets, and the one at the Pen Centre. I bought two rolls for around $20 with tax and tip. Really yummy.
Love love love this location! It's so open and clean and always has decent stock when I've been by! Definitely the best eatery in the mall! It's a bummer that I'm only sometimes offered the edamame/ seaweed salad even though I always buy two sets of rolls,Haha.
YUCK sushi was horrible! I live in downtown toronto and eat sushi alot,but this is not good at all! Never will i eat at any bear sushi again! Anyone that knows good sushi will know what i mean once they try sushi from here, and i tried both bear sushi locations and its NOOOO GOOD! I give both Thumbs down and toes also!
