The service attitude was very good. Although the store was small, the food was delicious. There were also many kinds of drinks, which made me very distressed. through the introduction, I got very good recommendations. I really like their homemade spaghetti, which also has dried tomatoes
Cozy and friendly cafe. If going on weekend should make a reservation. Menu more or less south Asian variety, tastefully made. Yummy and great quality! I like the the best! Next time will try their teas.
Found this cute cafe while going on one of our evening strolls. Bear Bear Cafe is tucked away in Northtown Way, facing Doris Ave ^^ Not new, but I think they opened about 10 months ago. My family decided to walk-in for dinner; we were greeted by an Asian lady, and she looked REALLY familiar. I realized she is the same lady from Baifang Taiwanese Bento , a mini takeout shop, also in Northtown Way lol. Service is great, the lady speaks english, cantonese and mandarin. Food is prepared right behind the counter, and comes out piping hot! I would recommend the following: Portuguese egg tarts - not too sweet #mustorder - they heat it up for you nice and crispy! - approved by Asian moms lol. Hainanese Chicken Rice - similar to the one at Baifang but this rice is stir-fried and more flavourful - comes with soya and homemade ginger green onion oil I'd love to visit again and try more items on the menu. They ran out of a few drinks that I wanted to try. Hopefully they are back in stock next time! We actually parked on Byng Ave. and walked over bc Northtown Way is usually crazy busy.
I would recommend their hainanese chicken rice. The rice is fried with chicken oil for flavour and portions are great value for the price. Important to note for customers that this restaurant is usually run by one person but does value your business.
Food: What we had was yummy, and there is quite a selection. However, the drinks we wanted were not available. I had a second choice, but it was also not available. Our first choices weren't meant to be that day. I was disappointed. Service: I love the owners. They are so hard-working. Friendly and sweet. Decor: There was small seating and comfy and muted decor. I enjoyed that it was out of the way.
Cozy place with surprisingly inexpensive food and drinks. The Hainanese Chicken I ordered was fragrant and in large portion. The owner very kindly offered warm water when I visited the place during a cold night. Was also intrigued by their osmanthus Americano, will definitely come back to try out their drinks menu.
Got takeout shrimp pesto croissant and an osmanthus syrup latte. Croissant is delicious, the pastry is flakey, and the shrimp is juicy. I absolutely LOVE the osmanthus flavor of the latte, however it is a bit on the sweet side so I'd recommend ordering with less syrup if you decide to try. I will definitely be coming back. : The owners are very nice and friendly as well.
Pretty low-end taiwanese lunch and very cozy space! The portion was humongous and delicious too! The minus is the auntie is more fluent in mandarin tho hehee. Check @eatarydiary for more detail!
Bear Bear is an anachronism. Yes, the decor is contemporary. Yes, the menu is laced with drinks and dishes new and inventive. But, there is something about the place that gives the warm, old-world vibe, that’s getting so hard to find. In a city overrun with corporatized eateries, perhaps it was just the disappearing charm of an owner operated, indie cafe. Check this place out, and say hi to fashion-forward Ricardo. Ps. The Hainan chicken was great too.
Last month we had a very tasty lunch in this restaurant. This is really a very Hong Kong Cantonese style food with a bit variation towards even more delicious. The is the best I had ever with the pork meat super tender! The taste is more than 100% like that of in Malaysia. Talking to the owner that she almost cook everything on site by herself in order to maintain quality! The creamy chicken/turkey is also one of the best pasta I have ever had! Sadly that I did not have chance to try the henan chicken rice that she recommended simply because I had the same in other restaurant just the day before! The lady owner is very talkative and share a lot of her experiences in Toronto! This restaurant cannot be seen so easily but definitely worth to try!
