8/12/2022 I was trying different lobster places throughout Maine and I wanted to try one that had been around a long time. Beal’s was a great spot! The view from my seat was fantastic! The lobster roll was delicious and full of lobster meat. I had a blueberry soda with it as well as a slice of blueberry pie. Everything was delicious. I highly recommend stopping here for a bite to eat. They have fresh lobsters in a tank to choose from when you order. The staff was friendly and service was fast!
The GOAT! Been here 4-5x. The lobster could not be fresher - really feels like saltwater. Lots of gluten free options if you have an allergy - including fried food. If you’re coming you must get the lobster bites - I’ve never seen them anywhere else and they’re flavorful and delicious. They’ve got different butters and flavors for lobster rolls if you’re looking to branch out, but all the classics are perfect as well. Never had a dish that was less than 11/10. Great drink options and views as well!!
Nice but I was underwhelmed. I really wanted to like it but my BLT with lobster didn’t have any lobster in it. The $40 lobster was decent sized 2lb but definitely paying for the scenery. We enjoyed paying less on a roadside lobster grab and go spot.
This is truly the Maine experience you expect when you travel here. The lobster meal was great as well as a “fun mess”. Bring your appetite, it won’t disappoint. The manager was very friendly, and the crew provided an informative explanation from lobster catching that morning to the cooking pot and your dinner plate. Memorable Experience
Within 5 minutes of arriving to a line of 20+ people, the owner came out to give everyone the “lay of the land.” That included pointing out the bar for those who wanted a beverage while waiting and apologizing in advance for any issues as they were, like everyone, short staffed. They didn’t appear short staffed, the line moved quickly, and everyone was friendly and helpful. Couldn’t have been a better experience. A bit pricey, but totally worth it for the food, the view, and the service.
We went here back in august 2018 and then again in September 2021. Their menu is definitely full of delicious selection however it definitely has become a tourist trap and the prices are a bit over the top. There are other alternatives but we gave them another chance this time because their food is yummy. We ordered lobster rolls, a seafood platter that included scallops, shrimp and fries etc. There’s plenty of seating and they serve alcohol as well but if you’re on a budget then skip this spot.
The place was great for the whole family! I ended up with the turf and surf and was glad I opted to get it. As always lobster was going but the sirloin tips were awesome!!! Outside dining on the pier and the kids enjoyed watching the crabs over the edge walking around and fighting. We got there right before a crowd so it was nice. They assign seats and you order at the counter before sitting down. They weigh the food in front of you so you can see what you are getting. Great experience! Last time we only got burgers but seafood was definitely on the menu this time around. My oldest got the lobster BLAT and loved it!
Tonight we went to Beal's for lobster. The lobster 1 1/2 lb was delicious. We got the corn, coleslaw, and corn bread with dinner. Sat on the deck overlooking the Southwest Harbor. Sunset. Lobster. Summer vacation in Maine. Parking: Parking available nearby
Horrible place. Don't make the mistake of going here. While the outdoor setting is nice, the food and service is horrible. I went here last week, ordered a lobster roll, cold, with fries. First red flag was the fried came out completely cold and must have been sitting for at least 1 hour. I asked our server to give us new ones which she did, which were extremely hot. You could automatically tell the difference. Second take a close look at my lobster roll. It sent me to the hospital, with food poisoning. I got violently ill. I had explosive diarrhea and nausea a few hours after eating it. One of the worst experiences of my life, and a horrible way to start my trip in Acadia.
Really cool atmosphere and pretty good food but there are better options available and for much cheaper. All of their fried foods are gluten free and gf buns are available for $2 extra which is greatly appreciated that they have so many options! I got a gf garlic butter lobster roll and lobster bites which totaled $72 which is overpriced imo. The lobster roll was $5 more than the other places we’ve been and had the least amount of lobster on the roll itself. I would’ve preferred more garlic butter on the sandwich itself but it was still pretty good. The lobster bites were amazing and the dipping sauces are very tasty! The young man who took our order didn’t seem very friendly but did help us answer any questions we had and was certain to take precautions with the gf items which was nice. It only took us about 10 minutes to look at the menu and order, but during that entire time, 3 of the boy staff members took turns play wrestling each other behind the register area which doesn’t seem smart to do so in a food prep area that is visible to patrons. The food came out to us very quickly and was good. I’m glad we made a stop here to eat but wish the prices were a little more reasonable and the male staffing acted a bit more professional in front of customers.
