Story

Bay Beach Amusement Park is the 9th oldest continuously operating amusement park in the U.S. and is tied for 21st in the world.

The Jack Rabbit (1901-1922) and The Greyhound Roller Coasters (1929-1936) were the first two at Bay Beach. They were designed by John Miller the premier coaster designer of that era.

The Zippin Pippin was also designed by John Miller and built in 1923. It operated at Libertyland in Memphis, TN until the park closed in October 2005.

It was built using 335,000 board feet of NEW treated lumber; 105 tons of structural steel, 46,000 bolts and ½ mile of track (approx. 8 football fields).

The first drop is approx. 70 feet, and is called “the Monkey Face”. Ride time is approx. 1 minute 35 sec. with 30 riders per train.

The cost to ride the Zippin Pippin is $1 (4 current Bay Beach ride tickets).

Bay Beach Amusement Park is a fantastic place for families especially with younger children. Tickets are 25 cents/apiece. Most rides for small children require only one ticket. Even the biggest ride, a wooden roller coaster big enough to thrill adults, requires only 4 tickets. Several rides require two tickets. The big picture is this: if I spend $30 on tickets to entertain my family of six for half of a day, I often end up giving a few tickets away to a stranger at the end of the day. It's a tremendous value. The natural beauty here is also fantastic. There is copious green space for picnics, relaxing, and enjoying being outdoors. There are regular free playgrounds for children. The parking is free. What a gem! Several times a summer, we drive over a hundred miles one way to visit Bay Beach Amusement Park. It has almost of the good things about amusement parks (family fun, excitement, time outside) without the negatives (long lines, high prices, crowded, separation from natural beauty). It's wholesome, affordable, hassle-free family fun. That makes it a destination.

I love that this establishment still has a family feel to it. My children love going and have a great time. I love that the pricing is still reasonable when you have more than one or two children. I also like that you can have a picnic with your family and there's a large playground area in addition to the amusement park rides. More rides have been added in recent years and the park is always clean and well-maintained. I feel like it is a fun, safe, family activity.

For many decades now a true family oriented smaller amusement park. It cost much less to ride the rides including the roller coaster, the scrambler among many others and many children's rides. There are bumper cars, a ferris wheel and as conveniently located very close to the wildlife sanctuary which is a great place to take your family. As perks of this nature goes you will have a fun day you won't soon forget with minimum funds. Plenty of picnic tables and a place for events for large family gatherings. Very well maintained by the city of Green Bay.

Beautiful, clean, and CHEAP! Each ride takes between 1 and 3 tickets for the most part (the coaster takes more), and each ticket is $0.25. For $20 you can go enjoy a lot of time here with the family. Lots of great rides for the very young kiddos. Ferris wheel is fast and actually thrilling for an adult too! Food is reasonable price wise, but you can bring outside food in too.

This is the real gem of Green Bay, and if you live here, it's really something to be proud of. Once you wander out into the rest of the world, you really realize how good we have it here with Bay Beach. You can take a family here without taking out a second mortgage. Great classic and kiddie rides, fun rides for older kids and adults, and some new recent additions make this a place where you can spend a whole day. My favorite thing is to come here at night when everything's all lit up - though keep your mouth closed so you don't swallow bugs on the Scrambler.
