Basmati Indian Cuisine

I don't believe the reviews do this place justice. Although I can understand it can be hectic during lunch or congested hours, the same can be said for any other restaurant so it's not fair to slate Basmati for that. I came afternoon with a friend and we got our order in quickly, received our food within 15 minutes. The portions were very generous rice, chicken, sauce. I believe this place is very underrated for indian food!

This place is utterly ridiculous. Ordered through Just eats. 2 veggie samosas, Onion Bahji, daal soup, naan, basmati rice and dall vegetable curry and chicken tikka wrap. Almost 60$ with tip. The food came cold. The delivery guy called me twice to say he's coming first he said he is 10min away. He then calls to say comes down to pick up food. I said no. If you are delivering you deliver to my dowrapGot the food had to warm it all up. The daal soup and daal curralwas anything but. There was more water/liquid in the curry than the soup and barely any daal. The tikka wrap was not toasted and there was more tomatoes, lettuce and cucumber than any actual chicken. Then the icing on the cake the samosa and bahji came with no sauce. When I called I was told no sauce and we ran out. I placed my order at 11am got food at 12:45pm. Restaurant opens at 11 so how do you already run out of sauce? I said but you could have called me to say no sauce and leave me the choice. They offered to give a sauces next time. No I'm sorry never ordering from you guys again. This is the 3rd time I am trying this place and giving it chance after chance. Every time has been bad. I see reviews on here giving 5 etc and I wonder maybe I get the bad cook every time. Terrible place. They will not be getting a penny more from me. I love Indian food and know Indian food. I've tried many many placces. Home and restaurants. This is not Indian cuisine..SHAME The yellow is the daal soup, more like broth. The other is the daal curry, broth with vegetables.

Worst service... the lady served us was very arrogant. I Figured out later that shes the owner/manager . Floors were very very dirty and tables were dirty too. Upon asking to clean the table the lady just wiped it with tissue n food n sauces were still all over the table. Mango lassi was the worst and even after complaining they did not seem to care. The naan and chicken dupiyaza were not bad but the paneer butter masala was tasteless n chicken tikka was so hard. This is a genuine review and I am writing this right after I came out of the restaurant. Would never go back to this place especially coz of the arrogant serving lady.

Just love there service. Foods are tested great. There have verious options for food.

This used to be my absolute favourite Indian food restaurant. The owner was always incredibly kind and passionate about his food and customers. He had taken note that I had come in with multiple new customers and went above and beyond to accommodate them as well as myself. I had even received a few free meals because of it! Regardless of whether it was eat in or take away he and his right hand man always made amazing meals and were so kind to remember me. Now that has all changed under new ownership. There is no sense of integrity in their work and a total lack of passion. Their recipes are awful and food often comes cold, greasy and repulsive. Their naan now seems store bought and often has burnt areas the quality of the dishes is so poor that I have had to throw two $13.00 items in the garbage on two separate occasions. There is a major lack of flavour now as well, and often times vegetables are cut in chunks, think of receiving 1/3 of a green bell pepper almost raw on top a mixed vegetable curry. I will always have fond memories of the previous owner and hope that where ever he is now he is well. I will never return here now that new owners are running the place.

This place was absolute garbage. Worst Indian food I've ever had. Not big portions for the price, and the butter chicken's sauce isn't even that good. And it's runny like water. Delivery guy didn't even bring the debit machine and rudely hunted me down for money when I offered to pay by e-transfer since I had no visa. Delivery guy was nice, but got lost. Also the owner's a dick. Never ordering here again.

OMG I love this place!` I have eaten lots of Indian food all over the US and Canada and Basmati is up in the top three! Food is very yummy, spicy and flavorful with an amazing richness. The chef will personalize anything for you will make things as hot or mild as you need, staff is friendly and they even have delivery- I do live outside their delivery area but they still always deliver to me. Their generous portions always are great for lunch the next day also. The prices are more than reasonable- other places charge at least five bucks more for butter chicken that is half as good! Try it and you will be back...promise.

Don't bother!!!! Ordered through just eat. Our food took over an hour and a half to get to us - and we only live 3 blocks away. Upon getting our food we noticed that our chicken masala was literally just a container full of tomato sauce, barely even a trace of chicken. The sauce was also comparable to Campbell's tomato soup. We contacted just eat who assured us that they had contacted the restaurant and that a replacement item would be sent. After waiting another hour and a half I followed up with just eat who assured me that the item wouldn't be much longer. I was then called from someone at the restaurant who demanded to know what the issue was with the food. He then assured us that the item would be sent over in 10-15 minutes. We ordered 4 hours ago and still haven't eaten - don't waste your time or money here. The service is laughable.

Went here years ago and loved it. Ordered some again recently and was not impressed. The butter chicken sauce was delicious, but it was almost $14 for basically just the sauce with very little actual chicken. Rice and naan bread were extra. The naan bread was hard and crusty, with holes in it. For two people it cost us $53 - why would I ever pay that again when there are so many other better options for Indian food?

Their food is exquisite. I loved the Beef biryani, it was full of flavour and it was very fresh. I also highly suggest their naan, it's super soft and hand made. The service is quick and the waiters are friendly. Although their food is amazing, their eating environment isn't the best but it's family friendly, but the food is totally worth it.
