While the officers 4/5 are very helpful, the online reporting service 0/5 is complete and utter garbage. Witnessed an incident and wanted to report it, went onto their website and had issues with filling out the online reporting service as the questions they asked are primarily closed ended or multiple choice and many of the questions and the sections are not clear at all. For all the money the city of Barrie pays for their police service you figure they would have a more user friendly and clear online reporting service...unless they do not want you to report a crime, well then the system makes sense...
I usually defend the Barrie police and stand behind them on most issues but today things changed. Someone hit my vehicle with their door in a parking lot. I have the vehicle description and plate number. All I wanted was a way to get the driver’s insurance info and the Barrie police said they would not help. They didn’t even take the plate number. I was connected to the opp and not even they could believe the Barrie police wouldn’t help with such a simple matter. My respect for the Barrie police just went way way down today.
On June 19th I was involved in a serious collision. The officers were great to deal with and very professional on scene. Was also easy to provide insurance the report number to prove fault.
Why is a off duty officer following someone in a stolen vehicle that is armed and dangerous!! Update you are now targeting drivers with loud cars, why not go fight some real crime? I will not be conducting any business or spending any of my money in Barrie from now on
I dealt with Debbie from the records department and she was absolutely wonderful. She was extremely patient, kind, very quick at getting back to me and just a wonderful person to deal with. Thanks, Debbie.
Called in today, spoke with a lovely young woman about a possible vehicle theft. took her time on the call with me, was very kind and everything was resolved, Would recommend!
We recently had to call for a wellness check on my mother. The officers that came were very compassionate and sympathetic to the situation. I needed a ride to the hospital and the 1 officer kindly offered to drive me. Due to the situation I didn't get his name. The date was April 3rd and I just wanted to say thanks again for the kindness I was shown.
One of most corrupt, ignorant low lives of a police force in Ontario. Called headquarters to complain about not being aloud to visit my sick family member in the hospital. Explaining to them how no citizen can be told they can’t be on hospital property during business hours. They tried to say I could be trespassed off public property if there is no crime being committed. Which is not true. No member of the public can be trespassed off any public property if no crime has been committed. Obviously these scumbag tyrants don’t understand the law. What a surprise. GFY.
Definitely not a fan of some of your officer's while I understand not all are like that. I've had negative experiences myself. However. You should put your hours of operation up for those who need to call for advice. Should also just be 24/7 aswell since you seem to have alot of issues with your force getting desk duty.. and lots of filed complaints.
Worse police force out there. An officer tried walking his way in my house with NO MASK. When 1. He had no reason to enter my house as he had no warent, and 2. No probable cause to enter either. When trying to report this, the supervisor was at no help at all. Completely tried to ignore the situation and tell me to file a report online. About a half hour goes by, and another officer comes to my door with "paperwork" I can fill out. When I had already requested to do so with the supervisor but he didnt seem to be interested in working as he said he was "very busy". Apon recieving the paperwork for reporting. The officer said to my face, "oh heres the paperwork, the officer is probably just going to get a verbal warning about it". Ok great, why would I spent my time to fill out a multi page report when all hes going to do is get a verbal warning. Step up your game Barrie police, and please give officers proper training as to this incident to ensure you are enforcing a nation wide MASK MANDATED that YOU are supposed to be enforcing.
